No Iâm equating fundamentally fascist methods of censoring/creating a deterrent for speech for the purpose of projecting a moral superiority with fundamentally fascist methods of censoring/creating a deterrent for speech for the purpose of projecting a moral superiority.
Realistically, if they REALLY wanted to they could automatically enable the profanity filter so that racial/LGBT slurs are always blurred out of chat. But getting back to your original point, I have pretty much always had the stance that obsessing over dirty language is pointless and fundamentally shows a lack of understanding into the psychology of swearing, the use of racist slurs, etc. But when asked where the line should be drawn, once a person threatens someone with physical harm, threatens to doxx/ddos someone, etc. Thatâs when staff should move in.
Despite the narrative theyâre trying to spin, many if not most of the people being arrested are not calling for violence against anymore, theyâre either reposting footage of things that are actually happening on the ground, or criticizing police/challenging the narrative they believe is not in their best interest. This is a western country. A western country behaving like itâs the next North Korea. Anyone who canât see the danger that represents is fundamentally a part of the problem.
A game where you shoot, punch, stab, bomb, bludgeon, and drain the life force from other players. Itâs also naive to assume that any person under 18 that is playing this game hasnât already been exposed to nearly every slur in the book, and that your efforts to censor language are going to somehow shelter them from learning that language.
I do, and communities like Counter-strike have already figured out 99% of this. And as much as I like a dismissive attitude, the fact that they market to small children does not change the fact that the mass majority of their audience is 18+ FPS players, and that the flaws of this mindset is an inability to read the room.
Itâs this, for a suspension or ban to happen, multiple reports over multiple games need to happen. They only take in one report per game⌠so multiple people across multiple games need to report. So OP is lying to us⌠not surprised. Itâs not censorship over one report, itâs censorship for being toxic in multiple games to multiple people who are tired of their toxicity. Itâs very easy to not be banned or suspended⌠just donât be toxic.
No blood, gore, or sexual references(although some of these skins are questionable)
Look, you can not say whatever you want everywhere. Thats life. You cannot scream fire in theatre.
More importantly, this is blizzards ip and they can manage any aspect of it however they want. They could make the word booger a bannable offense. They could make the word hello a bannable offense.
Play csgo if they have looser restrictions. Have at it hoss but here it is what it is.
I literally live in one of the first cities to get the scum come over and start these riots. The few people from my city involved were renowned for their violent behaviour and caught on camera literally attacking police.
Go touch grass instead of focusing on your little conspiracy theories.
No, its their right as the owners of ip. Now i can explain to you why a major gaming publisher would censor language in their kid friendly game but i think you know why.
Owning property, does not make your handling of said property perfect, and if you want to keep that property or have it functioning to the best of its ability, you have to be aware of feedback.
