I got banned by mistake and need help

I got an email a week ago (last sunday) from Blizzards official email stating an account ban was getting overturned (I didn’t even know about it until the next day). I didn’t think much of it because in the email it stated it was an error and the Overwatch license for my account would be reinstated. Awesome, nothing to worry about, all is good.

However, it’s been a week since that email and I am still banned. I have put in 4 separate appeal tickets and every one of them have directly contradicted the very first email i got from Blizzard about the issue. I never got an email why it happened in the first place, I assumed it was a false flag from their system. I’ve never cheated nor have I downloaded any cheats for any of the games I play.

My battle.net account is almost 16 years old, and I’ve been playing Overwatch for 8 and a half years, since May of 2016. I don’t know where else to turn, I’ve emailed Blizzard and haven’t gotten a response back yet, the ticket system has been against me, and nothing I’ve done has worked.

I try to treat everyone in game with respect and uphold the code of conduct. I like to make friends along the way to have more people to play with and even make friends with the enemy team in Quick Play.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I can forward the email I got or screencap it for anyone to see. I would love to actually talk to someone from Blizzard about it instead of a ticket getting answered and immediately closed without further discussion.

I will answer any questions anyone might have, any additional details I will give all I know about.

CS team, or Blizzard in general, never read the forums.

Your unironic best bet to get into contact with them is tagging their customer service team on twitter with your ticket number and describe what is going on.

Best of luck on your unban

Take into account it is the xmas holidays and that CS are probably more swamped and understaffed than usual. So it might take them even longer than usual to respond to you.

They’ve already responded to OP. Four times. But they just keep closing the tickets without reading OP’s messages, because that’s what they do.

OP, do what RaysofGlory suggested. It’s almost impossible to get an actual valid response from CS with an appeal ticket. We’ve known for a while that they rarely read appeals.

The automated reporting system is still banning FPS players from its FPS game? And this issue that’s been going on for years now has not been removed despite the fact that it’s punishing normal players, causing the game to lose business, and been complained about hundreds if not thousands of times.

I’m fudging shocked.

Try different ticket categories, like technical support, bug report.

Most tickets are handled by some outsourced garbage company, they aren’t reading your problems, rather pasting templates and giving you generic answers. One time I asked help for OW and they were going on about world of Warcraft because they do not have basic education skills such as reading.

Oh dear, that’s what I get for being three braincells in a trenchcoat at 4am on this board, totally missed that.

I feel so sorry for OP though, people deserve information on why their accounts get actioned.

It took me seven months of countless tickets to get someone on the support team to actually investigate and remove my ban for cheating. After they looked they realized no cheating happened and finally returned my account.

The most recent ticket I did ask them in all caps to send my ticket to a superior for actual investigation even if it meant waiting a week… Maybe that helped? I don’t know. Good luck, this post will probably get snapped soon.
