🧼 I get the feeling that "Blizzard's polish" is gone

Well, luckily it looks like Overwatch team is getting more attention recently.

Apex wasn’t enough of a threat.
But Valorant is a credible threat.
Especially with Tencent/Riot having both the capability, money, and intention to take their present and future lunch money, across the whole range of Blizzard titles.

OW aint going nowhere. It still has 5 years, Minimum

Yeah, but it’s level of budget funding is the question.

To be fair, Blizzard North made Diablo & Diablo 2 and was a totally separate company with its own dev team.

Honestly? It started when Activision acquired Blizzard. I’m sure plenty have already pointed this out, but Activision doesn’t care about the quality of what they push out, they care about when content and updates is pushed out regardless of how it affects the players for the sake of pleasing shareholders to make a dime. Theres a reason that ever since Activision acquired Blizzard so many people have quit the company and others have reported abusive working hours and practices, its because the people at the top don’t care about anybody but themselves and their very small clique.

The old CEO of Blizzard is gone, You think Activition is going to put someone with the same vision in charge?

It just another Acivition company now

Everybody retires. That’s inevitable.

Yes, because the old CEO made them a load of money with his abusive and predatory practices. And people, including me at one time, were stupid enough to buy into. Thats all Activision cares about, if you don’t believe me then look at other developers they own and their testimonies about their change of life and what they had to make after they were acquired, then look at what continues to go on today. Nothings changed besides very small tweaks on what they make because people got angry. Then people say “Oh, well they’re not stomping on us anyone, just planting their foot against our heads so its okay” so thats where they stay.

Worldwide pandemic and and a whole lot of stay at home work…are you living under a rock? You think its just business as usual at blizz offices right?

Eh I think the Activision excuse is a little scape goat for blizzards change myself.

Also, according to Blizzard, Covid-19 is responsible for 60% OWL viewer loss.

While all other video game companies report massive increase in their viewers due to C19.

I’d say right now that OW1’s support from its team isn’t too far from what’s going on with Heroes of the Storm to be honest. Sure, HOTS’s situation is worse but I can absolutely see the drop in quality of polish for OW since the past year or so. I’m sure that OW2’s development is indeed siphoning most of the team’s capabilities.

Except HotS is still getting plenty of support from its team? AZJackson literally made a thread a day or two ago to get feedback on tower changes that are coming soon. New content is still being made. Reworks and balance changes are still being done. How long has it been since Jeff Kaplan asked for feedback on here?

OW2 is such a kick in the face for everyone who bought the game. They’ve cut back on content since 2017. No new events. No new game modes. Just the same rehashed stuff and more loot boxes.

Since it’s a “solid” object now, you’re clicking on a wall. That’s why you ain’t healing her.

Actually changed how the zoom works.

It’s complications in the code and probably the engine. Which will take longer to work out.

Read the patch notes it was intentional.

Stupid right? Blizzard wants to delete Mei from the game :frowning:

Are there issues happening in WoW and Diablo land? We don’t talk about HotS land…

Am I the only one who still finds Overwatch as one of, if not the most bug - less and polished online video games out there?

I’m sorry, but I think as a community we were spoiled from the beginning in this aspect…

think you mean wasted too much time on a rework that wasn’t needed nor asked for and just revert a buff that shouldnt of ever been added.

Even if they did exactly what they did to get to this point, it wouldn’t have been so bad if they got it all done within 1-3 months. Not the better part of a year, followed by another year gap.
