I find Junkrat servicable, but underpowered

He got hit hard, but he still can pressure an enemy team pretty well.
HOWEVER, there are too many breakpoints that Junkrat has lost. I often seeing myself do tons of damage, but can’t get the kill. Everything needs 3 hits minimum, and those three hits need to be point-blank. And a little support of mitigation and you get nothing.
Compared to Venture, who also needs to 3 hit, they get to do that with better consistency and doesn’t need to be completely point blank.

He just needs a bit more. Just buff one thing. Give trap bleed. Give him an extra nade. Have the mine give burning. Something.

Maybe a worthwhile new passive is a start for Junkrat

junk needs two more shots in his clip.
venutre dashes junk and does 100 damage to him and basically now requires 4 back to back shots to kill which is 80% of his clip.
oh and add more nades to his death total mayhem passive which is honestly one of the worst passives in the game lmao

Junkrat does not need even more damage. If someone is caught in your trap its usually a free kill anyway. Your combo just added one more grenade to kill someone. 2 grenades and a direct hit concussion mine is already 360 damage.

Trust me you dont want a strong Junk in any patch, after the Dva nerfs in OW1 junk was the very essence of oppressive
Given how OW2 DVA is even weaker than the nerfed OW1 DVA and theres no other tank that can deal with that spam, again, trust me you dont want a strong Junk he should stay a bottom pick forever

On top of all that, Junkrat has NOTHING to mitigate damage. He has some mobility, but that’s it. He is a glass cannon that can’t even do the cannon part right.

You can mitigate damage by playing with your supports who will heal you when you do take damage

personally i’d like it if junkrat could swap firing modes

mode 1 would be standard

mode 2 would be rollers (ie tf2 grenades that while they do bounce, theyre more known for rolling, often called rollers)

Yeah, sure. Meanwhile, Cassidy can roll and tank an Ult, Venture goes underground, or get some shields when doing damage, Tracer can rewind to full health, Torb gets overhealth when he gets mad, Bastion gets tankier when going tank mode, Reaper goes ghost, Echo can just change into another person. The other ones who also do not have mitigation are long distance heroes, and do not have to be close up to be effective. Junkrat is not a sniper.

And you have concussion mines that can fly you across the map

The same ones that are needed to do damage. Yeah trading your escape tool for subpar damage, not a good option.

What Junk needs is enough damage on his primary for 2 tapping 250hp targets and for his combo in exchange for the damage decreasing by 50% or something when nades bounce so spam gets hard nerfed. 2 tap if accurate with directs but 4 tap with spam. Raise that skill floor way up and be done with metal ranks crying about him then balance him from there. He will never be strong or fun to play until the spam issue is addressed.

Junk was D tier at best for almost the entirety of OW1.

I say let his direct air shots crit.

Nade Mine?

Naw. Mine, nade!

Give it up. They’re never going to buff Junkrat. There’s way too many people who think he’s OP now because they can’t avoid his low grade spam.

I want to scratch my eyes out every time someone survives mine to airshot…

Let’s let the Mine crit as well if it doinks off their head

I share your sentiment, but am still enjoying playing him this season.

Jr is entirely map dependent imo. … And outclassed by Venture so badly its actually scary.

Still fun to watch enemies fly in all directions unwillingly.

Watch your step walking around corners against my jr. I love trapping and mining around corners.

… But yeah its widely known there’s 0 reasons to play him anymore if you want to win. Imo. Lots of fun to be had tho regardless.

Is always going to be niche in the world where pharah and echo exist

nah dude could get 5 second wheels and melt tanks even in goats
wrong

Other than right after his double mine patch Junk was one of the weakest dps in OW1 and it’s not debatable. At least in ranks where people have their monitors turned on.
