Diablos mobile game was such a blunder Blizzard needed something to distract its base from it so they made Jeff overnerf Brig so the most OP character in the game (Tracer) has no counters to make the base angry at something else for a while.

The only problem is that Overwatch players do not care about Diablo and vice versa. There is a bit of cross pollination; however, that actively hurts them more than anything as it gives an impression that the entire company is incompetent.
