Sustain and damage creep. Damage creep makes it so that tanks aren’t very durable and die incredibly, while heal creep makes their damage not feel impactful. If we reduce both the amount of damage and healing at the same time this could lead to more tank diversity.
That’s true, though that is also how we end up with SniperWatch. Widow and Hanzo only. Make things die instantly or they’ll never die at all.
Yeah, I’m hoping that this would make sustain damage heroes and tanks better.
If we want more heroes to be playable, hitscan needs nerfed and characters like Mei, Sym, and Sombra need buffed. Even out the cast’s power a bit so that there aren’t throw picks and then tanks can be changed out more freely too.
I mean Ball and Sigma are quite durable. U cant kill Hammond unless your team focus him down, and u cant push Sigma, he just wins almost every duel.
Who says tanks aren’t fun right now? I feel way more impact on tank than any other role lately.
Ball and sigma are slightly overtuned right now, I’m talking about rein, Winston, d.va, etc.
How about the reason is because devs didn’t identify the problem with GOATs and DoubleBarrier is that it was too strong at close range, and nearly invincible at medium range.
And since making it vulnerable at medium range isn’t really doable, they should have made it weaker at close range.
And that you can’t really have Dive be viable when knockbacks are so strong, there’s many unmatrixable stuns, and Brig can heal for 70hps through barriers and matrixes.
Give Winston more armor or damage.
Give D.Va her 15m matrix back.
Give rein a faster walk when shields out.
The reduction of healing from Ana, Moira and Brig have actually impacted Rein negativelly quite a lot. He’s is the “greediest” tank and when the meta heroes can pump him full of resoures, he’s dominant (think GOATS as the apex of that), if not, you get “self sustain cooldowns” as dominant.
I don’t think there’s many healing sources left to nerf. Repair pack and Bap’s nade, maybe.
As far damage, could go with reverting Tracer’s fall off and honestly that’s about it for raw damage nerfs.
I guess nerfing Tracer would just keep Echo + Hitscan (Ashe or Mccree) as meta.
True. But I’m not sure how to nerf those further.
I feel like, echo doesn’t need any nerfs personally.
If we nerf mccree, he will just get another buff a week later.
Ashe… nerf to dynimate radius?
They should try to reduce the damage from FTH. It’s too much of a cheap tank bust ability.
And/or
They could remove the reload on roll for Mccree, his reload got already faster.
I like the dynamite radius nerf idea for Ashe. Although I think her shotgun is too strong for self-peel.
For McCree, nerfing FtH damage would probably feel best from a tank’s perspective, and it wouldn’t be devastating to his main kit.
Sigma yes, Ball no. Sigma’s the only overturned tank.
I think that they should look at coach gun and rework the way it works.
They could stealth nerf it by making defense matrix able to actually stop all of it…
Add deflect and grasp to that and you got a deal.
