I feel like Genji is a throw pick in stadium

Elite and higher up ranks in stadium he feels horrible.
Im a support/tank main , every single time I get a genji on my team we lose
A good portion of stadium counters him so the genji almost ALWAYS going negative

I just feel like genji should have been added later when there were more heroes to choose from, less chance he gets auto countered. I am just frustrated with the amount of losses due to genji being picked in general, I do NOT hate genji, just wish he wasnt such a throw pick in stadium
His main purpose is too flank, which he cant do INTO his counters making his kit and purpose less or even counter productivie and feeding the enemy team*

He can be really strong on the Swiftstrike side. Provided you get the right powers; but he is a little slow to grow and doesn’t really start spiking until round 3 or later. Which feels pretty typical for most Damage-role heroes in Stadium.

No one on the Damage-role side counters him save (maybe), Reaper. Tanks, naturally, are his biggest issue. Some supports, tend to be fairly even with him. Even Juno or Kiriko wouldn’t give him too many issues. Moira wouldn’t be an issue, unless you’re really bad at aiming; or Moira takes a different build than Orbs.

Flanking is still possible, but you have to understand that a Damage-role hero like Genji still requires back-up and if he isn’t getting that, he’ll struggle. Unless he vastly out skills the team.

Mei is a huge counter to him, most genjis I see will flank alone, a good high rank moira kills genji very quickly. So will Mei. Its just he is too slow to level up he dies VERY often

I feel like a great genji is currently the strongest hero of all. Even against ā€œcounter teamsā€. At least on all-stars.
Too bad there are way too many bad genjis around…

Stadium Mei might be a more… uneven fight, but the moment she breaks into Cryo-freeze, Genji’s free to escape and basically force the fight into a draw. That tends to work in her favor, given that Genji leaves the space, and her Ice Ball certainly offers some new nuances to that match-up, but I don’t think Genji is particularly weak here.

Stadium Genji can be hard to play. He’s running around in third-person with tiny-projectiles, no auto-targeting, and no mini-ultimates compared to other heroes. It’s also a lot easier to ignore his Deflects as well given the current map designs.

On the other hand, melee tends to be a little easier to work with in these confines, which is what makes Genji’s Swiftstrike/melee builds fairly deadly.

Genji is a throw pick everywhere. He needs buffs.

ironically, you can do some goofy stuff with going for more shurikens as soon as you can and go Attack Speed Genji with lifesteal i think. That can be extremely annoying for enemies or maybe run a cooldown build and be a Deflect Tank. Lol. With there being so many projectiles, deflect has become ironically valuable for protecting teammates and being a pain in the butt to hitscan / aimbot builds.

He’s…fine? He’s my most played hero in the mode and I can’t say he’s bad but he power scales extremely slow especially when compared to the other damage.
When you get him going in the later rounds if the genji is good he can be the best DPS. You deal huge damage with swift strike and blade.
Also playing him into freja is pretty much an instant loss at least when she had her ultimate tied to an ability.
The only thing I would say could be good is if his dragon blade power made it so you press q to quickly swing your blade and not instantly after the deflect. This would make him slightly less clunky and let him choose the engagement better but I also understand why this bug was removed

He’s really strong played by a good player with the melee crit build and it comes online really fast.

I feel he’s fine

I mainly play Genji, although I’m in a 16 lose streak rn, but I usually end up the best performer on my team, so I attribute the lose streak to bad luck

His melee build is hella fun, especially in the later rounds where I can combo people

He has the ability (literally) to ignore his counters. With good builds, he’s very, very strong.

Cass, Soldier, and Freja are just overpowered and need actual nerfs instead of meaningless baby slaps on the wrist.

I don’t play much Genji but I can imagine my build would just stack weapon power and deflect buffs

tell that to ashe 20million characters

its imho more to do that most other heroes are playing on auto pilot unlike genji.

Atleast half the roaster if not more is auto pilot abilities.

Hitscan is just better. Being able to peek and shoot while seeing them before you peek just can’t be beat. Seriously.

It is just because of Soldier aimbot. Genji would be better if that nonsense was not in the mode.

I encountered a phenomenal Genji player tonight. I was playing as Soldier 76, and he was constantly on me. It wasn’t until the last round when I had like 45% power and 40% ability or something like that, when I was dispatching him.

I’ve encountered another Genji player who increased their quick melee and one-hit-KO’d me from behind.

I wish I could be as good as those people at playing him one day. But it’s a long road to git gud with Genji.
