It almost seems like a requirement to have a Widowmaker on your team at this point with how much I see her being picked. Even when were in a dive tank meta with Sombra running about, Widow is the most frequent DPS I see.

just play comp. In low-mid rank you will rarely see her and in High rank only on certain maps.
With the 14 min support que times for GM? I wish. At least in QP there’s a chance the widows can’t aim.

The only reason i want to play widow is due to pharah. Sadly looking at scope make me dizzy.
most players can easily beat a widow. at the same time most players don’t respect the possebility of her existence.
where most players play, peel is so slow she would die 5x until peel arrives.
most players gain by playing something thats hard to fail, widow is all about hit for big value or have absolutely 0 value and be absolutely easy to gank.
I mean GMs laugh at diamonds, and diamonds are way above most players already.
I feel bad for Dps mains who only play widow. They must not know CoD exists. Poor folks.

Playing widow in ow is still a very different experience than playing cod. Just like people make cod comments with soldier, sure he is the basic shooter guy, but dealing with healing, tanks, the longer ttk, all the movement abilities etc is quite different.

Hanzo, Genji, Sombra all good picks against her. If you can’t flex you’re bad at the game. She’s really not oppressive until gm where Widows are just cracked and don’t miss. They’re the best aimers in the game
Widow has like 5 good points in the game she’s strong on where you got noob heroes like Junkrat with more spamming chokes.

The only solution is RQ Mystery Heroes. Then you have a chance nobody gets a Widow or Sombra. At least a chance…

The last few days I have started to be a Widow-Annoyer. Either trying and learning to play Sombra or do it in other ways. Even made my first 2 Widows quit the game and 3 others to attack and insult me and with that anger they couldn’t concentrate anymore and grew worse the longer the match went.
Was a VERY good feeling because I hate Widow and the “I sit at the end of the map and pop your head with a single tap instantly”
And again, playing widow in ow is nothing like playing a sniper in cod.

Widowmaker is probably the easiest incarnation of any sniper I played. No aim flinch is such a massive plus to snipers.

In OWL, Contenders and top level play she seems hard meta in every single match just because of how she works.
Why play Cassidy, Ashe, Hanzo, or any other dps for that matter when you can pick the person who can oneshot where the players have the skill level to hit consistent headshots over and over and over again.
But this is what they want for her, apparently. She’s in the game to appeal to a very specific kind of player, of which there are a LOT, so they’ll never hit her with any kind of nerf to how her damage works.

Thats because Widow has never been ran out by dive. She is, after all, one of the hardest heroes to actually dive.
Widow actually often becomes part of dive, and even replaced genji in the OG dive meta.
