I’ve played a lot of Doom in the OW2 beta that just ended, and he felt much smoother and faster to play than he is on live.
I kept trying to use power block today but was slamming lol, and also the utl on live feels much slower than that of tank fist.
I am not used to his Punch 1 shotting anymore, and everytime I punch someone I think I will knock multiple targets back, but it’s only 1 lol, gets me everytime.
Overall as a Doom player I think I prefer his Tank transition, he just needs to be turned correctly and he can be so much fun to play.
Any other Doom mains feel the same? DPS Doom not working out for ya after the beta?

The only thing I like more about dps doom is the slam build up. Add it back please.

I highly prefer Tank Doom.
The whole “try to instakill someone and hope I can punch out and not die” gameplay isn’t nearly as fun for me in OW1

I still prefer ow1 doom because it feels like i’m rewarded more for setting up on the highground and the higher damage feels nice. still like ow2 doomfist though, and will still be maining doom in ow2

Same - I can’t go back to OW1 Doom.
Even the playstyle feels cowardly (hiding and waiting for the right moment to engage) rather than the all action playstyle of the new Doom.

I dislike having to play around power block and having that one terrible move be the thing I need to use to get value via empowered punch.
I like tank doom, I just wish he wasn’t garbage.

I think Seismic slam is holding him back. The ability(imo) doesn’t feel “in place” as part of his tank kit.

Im glad you saw doom in a new light, I know a ton of doom mains hated the fact he was moved to tank. I actually think doom is far stronger now as a tank to be honest
Several people feel he’s quite powerful. He’s arguably harder to play now because all of his abilities don’t set-up nicely into his primary fire damage.
Uppercut and Slam both put people into a super predictable arc to get headshots with. Nor does his rocket punch get kills after like a 2/3 charge on a wall. His whole thing is about primary fire now more than ever. He still has been even in OW1 because better players are more lethal when you can 2 tap after each slam or uppercut.

Damage doom is better. More lethal, either you completely dominate or you do nothing.

He isn’t, but anyway, we had no say in it so f ourselves I guess.
People here saying they prefer OW2 Doom are either mechanically limited or they barely play him, all good though, who cares now amirite.

Old Doom forever in our hearts.

DPS Doom feels pretty trash now honestly after a taste of what could be. Tank Doom played different but his movement is so much more fluid and he feels more viables in situations he would have otherwise just fed (i.e 80% of games).
There are some things I don’t like about him, but at least I’m not making an alt account trying to bunch other people’s opinion to be same as mine because I’m insecure about change ^^^^^.
Playing ow1, I see rein dva and doom, I am like, wth, how do they have 3 tanks, am I in openQ or something? 2 minutes later, wait…this is ow1, kekw xD

Have you seen “getquakedon”? That guy is a doom god and even he prefers the OW2 doom. The only ones hating on the doom change are the ones that crutched on the one shots. Doom is literally faster in OW2, there has already been some testing and OW1 doom can not keep up with the new doom. The blocking ability is also really nice although I feel it could be better and his jump is less clunky compared to the dps version. You don’t have to agree, thats totally fine, you are entitled to your own opinion. Like it or not, this is the new doom, like I’ve told everyone else that hates change, you either sink or swim.
not true at all. It isn’t the oneshot people miss, in fact many were asking for its removal in return for buffs to other things, its that the playstyle has been changed and so many techs rendered obsolete
The only problem with tank doom are the players who’ve never played a dive tank seriously, complaining about him endlessly lol. Seriously though, there’s a huge learning curve a lot of Doom players have with the new role and not all of them understand that just yet.
I can’t wait until we have enough decent tank players who can play a decent Doom so we can get him balanced right

So make new ways to play him, Orisa got completely overhauled too. Why aren’t orisa mains crying about her changes? I think the issue comes from doom players not wanting to adapt and the stubbornness of wanting to play dps instead of tank.
I don’t think it’s a serious problem like that. Its expected tbf.
Orisa is different because Orisa players were tanks. Most of them also understand she is weaker than most of her opponents seem to think but for now she’ll be a decent pub stomper.
I think good tanks already understand that we need hero pool versatility to succeed so there isn’t too much whining. The tanks are a lot better when you play them in the right places

because doom was a fun hero for a lot of people. i know so few people who main orisa, because she was widely considered incredibly boring. also why shouldn’t doom mains be upset or resistant to change, if tracer was changed to support and her blinks removed, would the players who learnt all the techniques not be upset? that’s the equivalent of this change
