but I really liked that cinematic/collab, whatever it was. The song is really catchy and the Overwatch related parts were really cute. As far as cinematics go this is probably up there as one of my favorites. I know we’re all supposed to hate everything new that blizzard does but I thought this was really fun.
It was probably one of my favorite animated shorts as well. I am not sure that is saying much; however, I am not lying.
Is this in the game somewhere? Haven’t seen anything about it.
There is a little notification on the bottom right of the screen that, presumably, links to the music video.
It just opens a link to YouTube. LOL! This is the only game I play where they want you to do anything but play the game.
Something something Le Sserafim Collab Something something Blizzard wasting resources something something how dare they something something never buying anything from blizz again.
In all seriousness though, I’m not a fan of the song (I don’t like k-pop in general) but I do like the cinematic, and the skins are fire.
If they are looking to compete with fortnight and league legends for tie in products. They are so late to the concept they have to dig the game out of its grave and parade it around “weekend at Bernie’s” style. Honestly this sort of tie in should have happened long before they taped a 2 on the title and especially before they killed PVE.
It is just hilarious that so many people are complaining about the Kpop and asking for a “better” collab or that Blizzard stays true to themselves (lol) while the Diablo bundle is in the shop. It is like???
There is something for everyone (even free to play get a recolor, at least… I guess), but people just have to complain. Even more funny is the “I never heard of them.” And now you have!
These people probably don’t realize that the English speaking audience isn’t blizzards primary target audience and hasn’t been for a while.
Good for you. I find the song to be mediocre at best even though there really isn’t anything wrong with anything.
I liked the cinematic, too. I thought the song’s pretty forgettable but it worked in the cinematic’s favour, because it meant that neither Tracer nor D.Va nor Kiriko spoke. It was neat how almost everyone got to showcase their power. (Sorry, Brig.)
So, um. When are those skins coming to the shop, anyway? I want to look at the Sombra skin in the shop, see that it’s the price of a small mansion, and then slink away.
I thought the OW parts were cute. Didn’t care about the band and really didn’t like the song, but the fans seem pleased so that’s cool. Most important thing for me is that the skins are radical, and they are indeed.
11/01
You don’t like Tracer and D.Va?!
I’m a kpop fan and imo le sserafim’s other songs are better (fearless, blue flame, unforgiven, antifragile, Eve, Psyche & the Bluebeard’s wife)
But the song’s still catchy
Oh, he likes them. He just doesn’t want them to speak. ![]()
It seems to have been very cleverly done:
- Will bring more people to OW (hopefully it is a good experience for them lol)
- They chose a song with more mass appeal than their more famous songs which some people won’t like as much
- The skins are great (I am well outside the target demo but I will be buying)
- While the band is already very successful it will get them attention from new markets (I am already seeing them doing a lot on their current trip to the US)
Tracer’s VA reeeaaaalllly hams it up for the mic and D.Va’s voice is like fingernails on a blackboard to me.
Mass appeal? I mean, maybe? Who knows what kids are into nowadays. That being said, I WANTED to enjoy it and couldn’t. I cannot imagine this is going to appeal to very many if I am being entirely honest. We shall see, I suppose.
Collaborations won’t always be to everyone’s taste, I would love a more highbrow collaboration too, something like art or famous books.
Playing the game shows it up for the trash that it is right now!
