I Don't Know What's Going On

My winrate, for a long time, has been super low. I’d say I only win like 20-30% of matches, and the rest are usually hard stomps against me and my team. This started happening in like Season 2 of OW2.

All of a sudden today I cannot stop winning. I’ve won 12 matches in a row. This has never happened in the entire history of me playing this game. I have never won this many times in a row, and a lot of these are stomps against the enemy team.
Wtf is happening?

Edit: Nevermind, I jinxed it. Right back to losing every match. Right after I typed this I got a match with a cheating Reaper who had walls, lost that, and then I got stomped another match right after.
Back to the mercy of the matchmaker with no control over the outcome of anything. I’ll update this later after I’ve probably lost like 15 matches in a row. There’s no way it gave me that many wins and will let me just have it without “balancing” it by giving me a ton of unwinnable losses right after.

You have to be trying to lose to have that bad of a winrate. And if not trying, which you probably aren’t trying to lose, then you have to be immune to improving.

Improving typically requires you to understand that you are the problem and fixing that as best you can. If you have such an abysmal winrate and blame everyone else for it, then you are definitely not improving currently because you are definitely doing something wrong.

Rigged or not, matchmaking skews towards 50% naturally. Only unnatural behavior will throw it so far off.

I don’t remember going to any of your threads just to call you bad and stupid.

It wasn’t an insult so much as a “hey, you should realize that you could be better if you think things through more”

If I wanted to say you were bad and be done with it then I would have

You did.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Doesn’t matter what I say, though. Even in the hypothetical situation I posted a replay of me playing almost perfectly, you’d look at one tiny thing like “you got stuck on that piece of wall and lost 5 health” and use that as evidence that “all your losses are your fault you just suck git gud”.

Most of my losses are stomps. Stomps as in my entire team, not just me. Even if I installed cheats I would not be able to win these matches, they are that skewed. You cannot in good faith argue that in these matches, if I had “just played better” we would have won, and it’s entirely my fault.
I get really tired of people like you who constantly spew your garbage of “you are the only constant in this game, everything is on you, every loss is your fault, if you lose it doesn’t matter what happened, it was you”

So if I was playing in a junior high football team, got put against NFL players and lost horribly, that would entirely be my fault?

If you lean in and squint, you can see that I said as much because you clearly were ready to throw down over it

Again, I’m not the one that came into your thread to call you bad and “git gud” you, ignoring the majority of the post and the actual topic at hand just to do so.
I’m adamant in my belief that if this post was about something else entirely and had 30 paragraphs, you’d still find that one sentence after 2 minutes of reading and immediately stop to go type the same thing.

yes my back hurts that is why i stopped comp.

Your post is about you going on a winstreak which is a completely alien occurence with a followup edit complaining about losing again and to a supposedly cheating Reaper no less

To me, it sounds like you’re making up your own demons and could stand to improve by recognizing that

So naturally my initial post reflects that

Ok I’ll just suddenly git gud and be amazing at the game because apparently it’s that easy. I’ll never lose again! Not even once! Since every single loss ever is my fault, right?
Damn… if only I realized that in the match where a Lifeweaver pulled me off the payload in overtime and I lost the match! That was my fault, if I realized that back then and just decided to win I would have won!

You’re ridiculous. Go away.

Saying everything in absolutes just further proves your tendency to toss blame anywhere but yourself

Yes, not all losses are your fault. However, you are the only constant factor in your games, so if you are losing a tremendous amount of the time, then you are highly likely to be the cause of a substantial amount of those losses.

At that point, you gotta figure what exactly it is you’re doing wrong and what things you can do better.

Like, if you know there’s a Widow watching a sightline, then standing in that sightline for extended amounts of time is probably a bad idea and doing that too much will lose the game. Or maybe your team eliminated most of the enemy and the couple left are retreating already and your team is definitely gonna capture the point. Using and ultimate to try and chase down those enemies would be a mistake.

Or maybe take the opposite scenario, your team has fallen apart and are definitely gonna lose the current fight no matter what you do. If you pop your ultimate in that situation, then you’ve wasted it and are increasing your chances at losing the match overall.

Stuff like that you gotta think about and see if your doing those sorts of things. The more mistakes you make over a long period of time, the harder it’s going to be to win. If your team all died and you don’t understand why but then blow your ult anyways, then you’re part of the reason your team is losing.

The win streaks feel like gaslighting. They allow people who are bad at math to go to the forum and say, “win streaks happen, too!”

A couple weeks ago I had a nine-game win streak, and on that day I still barely managed to have more wins than losses. Surrounded by two whole seasons of mostly losses, including season 9 starting with a record of 4-39.

But win streaks happen, too!

For the math challenged: people who are not good at the game have lots of company. They’re supposed to have fair matches, too.

Something other than fair match making is happening. It’s fair to wonder what that is.

No matter how gently or friendly you phrase it, or even provide resources, suggesting he improve at the game for a better experience will lead to a fight. I don’t think he’s interested in improvement.

That sums up 95% of the posts made here on the forums. Nicely phrased :+1:

You really typed out all that and didn’t even bother reading the guy’s post lol
