I enjoy how quickly this version of Moira melts Genji. And, with the generous attach angle, it’s really hard for him to get away.
Doom players, the Genji mains of the tank role.
That’s probably why I always liked doom mains. They can be pretty arrogant sometimes but it’s hard not to admire their confidence
Hard to admire when they are 1 in 8 on Tank Doom because they just jump in-front of the whole enemy team, block, get CC’d, and die over and over again.
This isn’t an argument on my part. If you don’t like or get the classic modes, that’s cool.
I really really enjoy(ed) playing all of them, and was sad when they went away.
Everything seems really pulled back in them on a lot of levels, both in the characters you can choose and how they play. And in equal measure, some character(s) really rise to the top as far as how effective they are…almost to the point of being silly…but that makes it fun…IMHO. While each mode doesn’t really mimic the original OW1 versions, they are still cool.
In this mode, I think it’s a crackup how deadly Doom is, and how annoying Sombra can be…and as a Mercy player I liked figuring out how to Superjump in this mode.
If I had my druthers, all the classic modes would be in permanent rotation in Arcade. It would be all I would play most days.
The point of Classic is so we can have yet ANOTHER Doomfist meta … Its going on the 3rd Doomfist Classic meta now.
for developers they want people to take out the rose tinted glasses and see ow1 and 6vs6 was trash, but for us is a chance to play the superior format and remember why ow1 was great
Classic modes are the only times I actually update and launch Overwatch again.
It’s been fun remembering how some heroes changed so much.
Torbjörn, Mercy, Symmetra…
Some old iteration I kind of miss.
Honestly, I’ve been thinking more and more that Mercy’s resurrection trade for more mobility was not to her benefit.
The point of Classic was probably to let new players see how awful Overwatch was and how much it improved since the launch of Overwatch 2, but in my opinion, they are playing a dangerous game that will probably backfire.
I hear most old forumers that were still defending Blizzard finally left with that perks update?
Also, I launched the game for the first time since the last Classic event and was welcomed by a visual and auditory aggression. They apparently make videos for the new patches now and it’s absolutely awful. You can see they don’t even care about the lore or the original ambiance Overwatch was supposed to convey.
Nowadays, it’s just “a fun game lol”.
Fortnite could afford it because it built it’s whole identity around it.
But seeing Overwatch go down that road was painful.
Exactly what im thinking too. All the rubes are joining the anti-6v6 bandwagon but have only experienced the worst metas…
I’m really going to miss the old Overtime music once Overwatch Classic is gone. That’s one of the main reason why I keep coming back to that game mode. I wish 5v5 and 6v6 open queue somehow brought back the old overtime music.
I also wouldn’t mind having both OW1 and OW2 overtime music but they are used at different situations. Perhaps when the payload is about to capture the point, we can use the new overtime music for that. But when the time is about to run out, I think using the old overtime music makes the game feel more thrilling and fun.
Yeah I tried it again and it seems to work this time. I guess I was pressing the buttons in the wrong order. But I do seem to jump up randomly though. Not sure if it’s because of lack of practice or the “bug” not being the same as 2019 version of mercy.
Either way I’ve had a blast being able to super jump on mercy again. It made me chuckle how goofy I looked doing it so often all game lol.
It’s a bit broken, yeah. Any prop jump has a 50% chance of turning into a super jump without any input. If you get caught on anything during ga, you might sj without input.
i take og goats any day over 5v5 boss tanks with 567 passives to baby the role, or the new 6v6 cancer with 2 boss tanks.
goats tanks are actually killable.
yej 11111 posts.
i want normal non babied 6v6 tanks. yes to q tank again!
i even take open q no tank limit over 1 tank with 6543 passives.
i wanna have fun playing tank again blizzard. NO another 3556777 passives is NOT what I want!
guess the devs need it to win a single tank game.
same devs who promote genji dragon blade… and slice a hog 6 times. Those devs. Those that lose a 1v1 in silver to a lone dps. I wish I was joking.
they will do anything to ensure nobody wants 6v6,thats why they add busted passives on tanks when theres 2 tanks.
Because it is easy content to make.
Nostalgia sells.
Well the good news is that you are not getting either of those experience in the classic mode, you just get whoever has the better doomfist with gigantic hitboxes on his abilities gets to stomp.
Yes and imagine if there were private servers, you could relive that nostalgia as much as you like.
If we get a private server that music has a good chance of being available again!
I enjoyed classic because it had no doomfist or sombra. Any other “classic” event i don’t care about.
If you guys want to know what an exciting game of OW Classic looks like, watch this replay: P7D3D6
I haven’t had a game like this in YEARS. In 5v5, I almost never get amazing games like these. While 6v6 could be the main reason, I also think it’s the overtime music that’s helping to make the game feel exciting.
Surely you get it by now?
It’s the current devs way of sniping at the last set of devs, because they’re “hurt” that people don’t whine about OW1’s various balance issues and gameplay woes and to bring up to the higher ups no doubt that hey even the original was far from perfect.
However, this overlooks that if the same investments were made to OW1 it could have been left 6v6 with an option for 5v5 modes added if need be. Removing 6v6 was questionable at best and frankly it seems they were hoping it would go some way to ease performance problems and to make the game seem different - and over optimistically better to play (it wasn’t known at the time.)
Let’s be fair, a lot of good things were delivered by OW2, it wasn’t all bad. But taking away 6v6 entirely and even removing OW1 classic was questionable at the very least. Fact is they did that to maximise revenues for OW2. Can’t blame them for it, but that’s the fundamental reason. Don’t kid yourself it was for anything else.
There was a time when Blizzard actually sold by making good games.
I can totally blame them for Overwatch 2.
