I don't even want to try the other 6v6 test

Can we keep the 2-2-2 test up? Replace open queue or something if you absolutely must do the other test because I don’t think I can drag myself back onto this game if I can’t play 2-2-2.

Being able to combo with a duo and play W.B. the right way is the most fun I’ve had in a long long time.

Agreed, I don’t know why they can’t just keep it in arcade at least (it is an arcade mode according to description). Classic should have been an arcade mode and remained too. Nobody plays most other arcade modes.

I feel like the next test is the true one as it is the only one that will keep queue times down (and down by alot since it is pretty much open). Mix in that they have seen what they need to balance and or adjust from this last test and it could be real amazing. I remember the good old days of flex support that let me come out on soldier/widow every once and awhile. This current test is great (5v5 is still less stressful for me as a support player though lol) and all but the next one is the one I can’t wait for.

My hope is a slight nerf to the dps passive. Adjustments to reins shield size in favor of his other abilities back. Hog removed from the game. Replace the support passive with something else. (the support passive was something needed when there wasn’t 2 tanks)

Can’t say I agree. I really like being able to pick which role I’m playing and knowing for sure that I wont be playing with an excessively dense DPS team.

I have a feeling this patch is going to end up being a bunch of “2 tanks, 3 supports, and a psuedo tank DPS like Reaper or Mei” comps. I know for a fact that Reaper will end up getting even more dumb nerfs because of it too and he’s just going to have his entire “hero fantasy” stripped away entirely.

If I remember the next test is 3 max 1 min so most dps you will get is 3. Though you probably will see like you said 3/1/2 (tank/dps/support) at the higher levels of play initially but the dps passive really helps counteract that being a main stay meta.

The other test seems doomed to fail. Practically nobody’s begging for tri-tank games in games where people are hungry to win above all else, and at the other end of the spectrum where nobody cares about winning, people are going to riot about being forced to play as solo tank/support.

On top of that, it’s going to garner ill will because it’s bumping off the current 222 test. I suspect 222 isn’t sustainable but I am enjoying it while it lasts.

Either stick a Limit 2/6/2 Hacked event over the OQ QP card (and keep 222 RQ up) or drop the experiment entirely, imo.

Exactly this. In a comp game, if 3 tanks is the meta then both teams will have to field 3 tanks. Do you really think 6 people out of 12 want to play tank? They can’t even get 2 tanks out of 10 to want to play.

I’m morbidly curious about it, but I feel like all of the tests so far (Limit 2, Kingmaker, OW2 5v5, even that 1-3-2 test way back in the day) have accomplished nothing but re-enforcing the fact that that 6v6 role queue is the only way forward for the game. I highly doubt min 1, max 3 will be the upset.

And frankly, I don’t care about helping enable the problem that is the playerbase. The core gameplay should not be compromised just because people refuse to play other roles. I get it, Blizzard is a business, and their business is reliant on popularity, but chess would be more popular if you could swap out your knights for more rooks, but it would severely compromise the integrity of the game.

The integrity of the game is worthless if the game dies as a result of needing more tank players than we have.

That’s not solely something that concerns Blizzard. It also concerns us, the players. I quite like OW and would like the servers not to shut down due to chasing an impossible dream. We’ve already come too close to that for my liking.

2-2-2 6v6 is pretty much perfection in my opinion. Maybe some hero patch tweaking and that perfection might be reached this Holiday season :pray: :gift:

As a VERY heavy tank player-along with Reaper-3 tank is the most stupid thing to ever hit this game, it will be an unmitigated train wreck.

Just don’t do it. It’ll make the game a laughing stock.

HOWEVER-I’ll still go Rein if required. Because I will have been called. I must answer. Always. My team will need a shield. o7

Why worse? Arguably improved, because there’s no room for the excessively stupid comps that we sometimes saw in OQ. I’m all for the idea of 6v6 3m1m replacing our current 5v5 OQ, even before trying it live.

While 2/2/2 is highly consistent, I think role limits has potential and I’ve always wished they tried that route first. Queue times are the main benefit, but it’s also not impossible for non-2-2-2 comps to be enjoyable and it might allow room for more oddball/hybrid heroes again.

Maybe if it showed potential as a perm solution, it could ultimately be combined with Kingmaker to solve the issue of solo roles.

That’s what I did enjoy about the early days of OW1-Planet of the Apes comps lol.

But in the past few years in a test environment, you’re NOT ALLOWED to have fun because of sweats and them demanding optimum comps. In a test environment. If you want to do optimum comps, form a stack. Stop killing fun for other players.

I and many other players vastly prefer role-less queue to the excessive queue times, lack of flex play, unnecessary restrictions, and other severe problems 222/122 bring with them

This doesn’t belong in any format if you want my opinion… I’m a broken record at this point but one extra source of incoming damage plus one extra player to heal means supports just healbot, and not well at all. The DPS passive is hideous overkill in 6v6 that was only introduced to counter “things not dying” in high ranks. Well the one extra tank plus Thier synergy does more than enough imo. Tanks didn’t get to keep Thier tankiness or knock back resistance, why do the DPS just get to stay more deadly while also not being targeted as much for no reason? XD
Imo the only fun role in this 6v6 test is DPS. Tanks aren’t tanky enough and supports can’t heal enough.

I think I actually prefer 5v5, over THIS iteration of 6v6. It’s sad coz I played ow1 loads and really wanted to like it. But the dev team is just different people than back then.
