I just don’t want to play with braindead bots anymore, is it too much to ask?
Just give them a tutorial or something, so they understand playing in front of the enemy spawn doors are stupid. So they understand they need to play together.
Why should i get punished for how stupid my teammates are?
I think you need to focus on you more, and less on your team. I got news for you, even if you climb another 1500 SR by winning 60 consecutive games, the people on your team will still play dumb crap and make goofy plays.
I’m 2800 maining Torb this season. If I were teleported to bronze and played the same character the same way, I know for a fact that some dude just like you would be calling me an idiot for picking him.
Umm the only tutorial we have is that weird one with solider but the rest we just learn from other players from observation. I am not entirely sure if it is even teachable to tell people that doing X is not advised outside of experiences in-game.
Loving this thread and the responses in it. I just posted a big, long-winded post regarding this sort of thing and this thread summarizes my stupid wall of text nicely.
Playing in front of enemy spawn can be smart if you know how to stagger your opponent. Ofc if your teammates are chickens like you, doing it will be quite complicated. But spawn camping is essential if you want to gain a substantial advantage over your opponents. If they have to spawn twice they will lose around 30 seconds, plus all the time that people normally take to group up in the normie tiers. So if you can spawn camp, you are effectively robbing them of chances to take fights. Less fights they take less things they can do, for example find an opportunity to use their ult and slam you. If you wait at the point all the time the enemy has just so much time and options to just dictate the fight and this is always bad and results in you dying in some big big ult like nanoblade or grav or whatever.
I garantee you, i can duel any dps player in bronze, maybe even silver.
And not only can i win the duel but i’ll dominate the duel. On any hero.
They’re not smart. They’ve seen the moira waiting to throw her damage orb and so they NEED to wait in front of the enemy spawn and not move.
Except by doing that, most of the time, they throw away my AWESOME positionning. AWESOME positionning that allows me to get one to three kills before the enemy even engage and staggering the enemy team.
And when that’s not that, that’s awful shield positionning. Why not put a shield in front of a car, after all? Wouldn’t that be a great idea, super useful, right?
And how hard is it to understand you shouldn’t be in the choke? Seriously, that’s like basic stuff. But on, they’ll spend the game going in the choke, always attacking middle and dying instantly.
Especially if that’s a bastion. When i play bastion, i’m lucky if i get a kill when i’m in an obvious position but when enemy play bastion, they need to go in front of the bastion, duel the pocketted shielded bastion alone.
If your teammates are stuck in choke, their team is gonna be stuck at the choke too. If you play DPS learn how to flank chokes by yourself. Dude I climbed all the ranks, my first season I was in bronze and the way I got out was playing soldier and just murdering all. You can do it too.
Actually my lowest was 700 SR. My highest match has been 3.6k game with a GM.
In every comp game, you are 1/12th of the game. You are the only hero you can control the entire game, every game. The only way to climb is to improve You. Not yell at teammates. You’ll have different teammates every game. I have climbed Brig this season from 2100-2890 in around 100 games with a 65% win percentage. I have one-tricked her on ps4 solo que, no comms. It can be done if you play your hero well. I have had games where my Plat teammates were garbage, others where they were much better than I am. That’s why you play a lot of games. Obviously you do care about climbing or you wouldn’t be posting in competitive. I used to get mad when I lost games, but now I realize in some games I would not have won no matter how well I played. Other games I know I would have won even if I played worse. That’s how the ladder works. Keep your win % above 50 & you climb, it just takes a lot of games.
