I don’t think Mercy/Brig are allowed to be good

Mercy and Brigitte got no real playtime in OWL again…

They’re both been in a rough spot since role queue and received minimal help at all.

Moira, Baptiste, Zen, Ana and Lúcio were all played by the pros and are allowed to be viable though.

I think the Devs just don’t want Mercy or Brigitte to be on the same level as the other Supports because they’re unpopular with the general playerbase whenever they’re viable.

… but that’s just me

No OWL Playtime =/= bad

Mercy is one of the most popular heroes, and Brig is just a good hero in general.

Being popular =/= good or viable.

Mercy has not been meta/viable for about 10 seasons in masters+. Every time she was picked in OWL today she was promptly swapped off to Lucio or Brig after about 1 minute. I think I saw a total of 3 rezzes over the 4 times she was picked throughout the night, and one Valk, after which they immediately went Lucio.

She’s not good, it’s not hard to understand. Pros aren’t going to play a bad hero.

I would argue with this. Not being played by pros probably means something isn’t quite right.

That is VERY opinion based.

An informed opinion

Based on what, if I may ask

1% GM pickrate for the last several months/year, currently only above Zen (who spiked above her several times in the past year, during GOATS specifcally), and barely picked in OWL/promptly swapped off of =/= an opinion. Statistics are facts.

Good heroes don’t have bottom of the barrel pickrates for a year+.

I can already tell you that is incorrect

That’s like saying Mei is a bad hero when she’s been in the majority of OWL matches. It’s not an opinion, it’s just flat out wrong.

Mercy’s role everyone likes to describe as a “pocket” or “sustain” healer no longer works for her. She doesn’t do enough in either department to warrant using her over other more potent healers despite the devs describing her as the go-to option for sustained healing.

???

This,
as much as I love Mercy, she’s trash
but she’s our trash, and we love her nonetheless.

ok let’s look at hard stats then shall we?
based on overbuff for the past 30 days
in gm: mercy is the least picked support and has the 5th highest win rate among the 7 available her win rate is very close to the lowest win rate (highest: 57.78% mercy: 53.67% lowest: 53.15%)
in masters: she’s the 5th most played support and has the 4th highest win rate (highest: 57.67% mercy: 52.55% lowest: 50.70%)

Yeah not sure why Brig just got nerfed on the ptr when she was the only support not used in OWL today except for Zen. She’s either the worst support or maybe tied with Mercy (or perhaps Zen but I don’t think so), sooo… buff her? Or just nerf her, that works too…

She was used more than Mercy today, were you watching? I literally watched them swap off of Mercy onto Brig after Point A of Dorado defense, and she was played various other games as well.

Mercy is worse. Mercy has a 1% pickrate in GM right now and close to 53% winrate. Brig has an almost 7% pickrate and almost 60% winrate.

Wasnt the whole point of the past few months from what I’ve been seeing here is that only the highest levels of play matter and that a hero should be balanced around that? This is a pretty big contradiction

Saying that not being picked doesn’t mean she’s bad is like saying Mei being picked all the time doesn’t mean she’s good.

Uhh… thanks…? That’s definitely not under performing stats. Just an off meta pick.

do you understand at all why she was nerfed or what the nerf was?

Idk and I honestly don’t care what you’ve read on here lmao, I can assure you I didn’t state it
