Do not get me wrong, 2-2-2 is a solid and worthy team composition. But i have won with 1 heal, or tank, or dps. i do not get angry when people pick too much as long as we have a healer and a tank. There was a game called guns of icarus, what it did was when you queued you picked, i prefer to play and checkbox for the three roles. you could even pick all three or just two of them, and it showed that icon for you when you got into the game, a preferred role, i am all for, but i do not see why to fully force 2-2-2.
I will say a compromise would be 1-1-1-3. one forced tank, one forced dps, 1 forced healer. who can only pick from their respective hero pool. and 3 flex players who can pick from any. and when queuing you have option to pick healer/dps/tank/flex or any part of them or all of them, but once in game it may force you to pick one of the singular roles you picked unless only picking the flex role.
Just having the preferred role under someones name in comp would be a huge improvement by itself. we actually have some locked in choices already in the looking for group too. i feel the 1-1-1-3 is a fair compromise.

95% of community are mindly-weak they’re looking comfort zone, and don’t want to addapt the currency. They keep crying and don’t realise this is thier main problem - a mindset.
Im a support main and personally Im frankly done with being forced into playing main tank which my skill level isnt where im at. So im good with 222.

Rework tanks into dps characters so it’s just dps and support. Problem solved
Don’t mind 2-2-2, wouldn’t mind 1-3-2 either, hell even 1-4-1 can be fun. I do however hate the lack of structure/format and the frenzy to instalock whatever you feel like playing as fast as possible. Like if you gonna play triple or quadruple DPS at least pick a comp that works, not some HoG+Moira with 3 snipers kind of BS with me just sitting there looking at the monitor wanting to QQ or people that don’t understand how their pick affect the comp in general.
The big advantage with having a locked format like 2-2-2 (or whatever combination you could think off like 1-3-2 or 1x tank, 1x flex, 2x DPS and 2x support) is that Blizz can balance stuff better and push for meta changes if needed easier without breaking stuff.

Locked 2-2-2 will take so much of the guesswork out of forming team comps, which will remove a lot of the toxicity in matches. Seriously, a match can already be decided if one team decides to go 4 or 5 dps and refuse to switch off (I am well aware of teams being able to win with a comp like this, but those examples are the exceptions and not the rule). A multidps comp is usually an unfun experience for all those involved.
Role lock also opens the door for role queue, which will allow people to queue up for the role that they desire. Role queue in my opinion is an absolute necessity for competitive to become more functional, and it cannot be implemented without a role lock of some sorts.
Finally, from my own perpsective, I’m all in favor of locked 2-2-2 forcing all those dps one tricks to finally stop getting 0 kills on some niche hero and actually switch to and learn heroes who get value.

Zarya is already a dps though…

so i can still be forced to solo tank or solo heal? pass me with that. that is not a solution. answer me this, as a tank, why would i ever que as a tank. ques are going to be held up by the 10% of the least played role who are willing to risk solo tanking.

Too late, it is here and it is confirmed.
What it looks though is not a role queue, but a role lock. Meaning queue times will be great, but players with slow computers will never be able to play dps since they will be locked out by the time their games loads
Link to confirmation?
I highly doubt you’ll load a game and have to lock quicker than others.

Would be fun lol, personally I would prefer a in-game role queue like all-pick mode in DotA or any APEX game.
And yes, load-times depend on your hardware, mainly the speed of the hard-drive you have the game installed on.
When I was a new player I thought 2-2-2 mattered. After experience I have learned it doesn’t.
So how are you going to force two people to play tank and healer?
I haven’t read anything official about it being role-lock through in-game. Just that some sort of role-queue or lock with 2-2-2 is coming.
If it would be an in-game system and you load slower than others and therefore not ending up getting dat DPS most of the times well, buy new hardware and win the pick war, learn how to play whatever other role you end up getting, quit the game which would end up getting you banned, throw the game or simply not care which also would get you banned eventually or the last thing, simply uninstall and find something else to play.
Again, I have no idea how the 2-2-2 will be like, if it’s something you queue into or pick once finding a game.
Role queue is very complicated to implement, since the whole matchmaker would have to be different + separate SR and so on. They might implement it in future, but for now their goal is to get rid of GOATS in OWL and that is why they will make role lock.
2-2-2 is coming, many many close to OWL people confirmed this
I would rather have 3 flexes, one forced (main) tank and 2 forced supports. It’s difficult to execute solo support in this game unless you’re at higher ranks consistently.
I want forced 2 2 2 because i think games will be more enjoyable.

I’m 100% against forcing 222, because it takes away so much of what makes OW fun in the first place. Playing various roles, switching to counter the other team, the ability to hop on any hero at any time to make something happen.
I’ve seen a lot of 1-3-2 lately too, and it’s been a lot of fun!

tired of seeing 3-3 or 5 dps i’m also good with 2-2-2
The community does not want fair games. They want free SR. This is why people stopped using LFG, matches became harder and thus matches did not yield free SR as both teams went tryhard mode. In 2-2-2 people will also realize that it will not make them climb magically and cry for something new
