I want to get back into the game, but, like, this is horrible…
The only thing buffing tanks has done is exacerbate all the preexisting issues the tank role was already facing. On top of that, it has now made playing DPS and support significantly worse to play all around. (I can’t even fight them back when getting dove bruh. I can have aimbot levels of accuracy, and I’m still going to die because their HP trumps mine by 10x plus they’re putting out an equal amount of damage to me. What am I supposed to do?)
I swear the only thing they can do with 5 vs. 5 to try and satisfy all the roles is just spin the wheel for the next role to be overpowered; there’s literally no winning with this format.
Please, please have 6 vs. 6 ready for next season. I can’t take this anymore…
The first, and honestly largest, reason is the need to do this in a way that allows the game to have optimized technical performance (I’m referring to framerate and memory constraints) with 12 players in a match. There have been quite a few upgrades and additions to Overwatch 2 that have an impact on the performance of the game. These range from new features like allied outlines and enabling healer vision by default, the addition of more technically demanding hero kits, as well as visual upgrades to UI, heroes and maps. In a 6v6 setting, these upgrades can have significant impacts for our players, causing the game to underperform on older systems. Overwatch is a fast-paced game, and maintaining a game that runs smoothly across all our platforms is important for the player’s experience. While a limited time test could arrive sooner, the team is still investigating exactly how long it would take to permanently increase performance across the game. This would be a large effort that would most likely take at least several seasons to accomplish
No, several is more than two:
Several
Means more than two but not many. The most common interpretation is around three to five, but the meaning can vary depending on the context. For example, “several people” could mean eight or nine or even more in a crowd of hundreds, but four or five in a crowd of 10.
Was playing Junkrat yesterday on Dorado defending. Placed my trap infront of me on the bridge to the left knowing full well people like to dive that spot when attacking.
Monkey dives and gets caught in the trap, I hit him in the face 3-4 times directly plus a mine at the end while he is trapped but still manages to sit there and finish me off. I just sat there wondering what else I could have done.
So you should be able to finish a tank with an ability and shooting him all by yourself as DPS? If all DPS could do that then tanking would be even more miserable. Junk shouldn’t get a free kill just because a tank walked into his trap. Unfortunately he often does, which is one of the reasons tanking is as miserable as it is.
So a tank should not be punished for diving and getting caught against a hero that is known to be one of the better tank busters? I am talking about Junkrat here not every DPS hero.
I dumped my entire kit on Winston.
→ Trap → 3-4 direct shots → mine
But somehow I get to die because they are a tank with tons of HP and high damage even though they failed to dive properly and I used my entire kit to its full potential? While all they did was hold down m1 in a fixed position.
Should we just walk in pairs now because theres nothing we can do?
Or perhaps use one of your mines as your escape since junk as great mobility to get away from a dive tank. If any of your team had helped then you probably wouldn’t have died since any support can heal enough to almost nullify monkey damage.
If a DPS 1v1s a tank, the DPS should lose or the tank is pointless.
Yea, this IS a generalization. If a dps is out of position or on their own, it should GENERALLY be a kill for the tank.
It’s not always the solution, but to your previous point - you have to be built for that.
If your teammate healed you even slightly, you would’ve reloaded, and hit monkey again for the kill, no? How much health was he left with? Like you ALMOST killed him right? I mean, in this situation you described, Winston got caught in a misplay. I would like to think it would be more punishable. If it were doom, you would’ve gotten that kill. But Winston’s wide spread was in their favor spamming you. It’s not “DPS should never 1v1 a tank”, it’s pick your battles
this game cant be saved honestly with how things are goign this season they need to scrap the game aand in reality dva feels super weak on her meka now
