I can't join any games - server failed to connect error

Im on EU servers, everytime I queues to play QP or Stadium, it says game found then greys everything out. Then a minute later I don’t join and get the “server failed to connect” error, every single time. I haven’t joined a match since before the update lol.

Ever since the update I’ve been getting ‘failed to connect to server’ too, it wont even let me spectate or rejoin the game when im in a group either

Same here. I restarted the client after the first time and still couldn’t connect nor would it let me rejoin when I got a game of stadium. I’m now looking at an hour suspension despite not even entering a game

US player here. I’m also getting this error now. I played one successful game of 6v6 in a group, but now it says “failed to connect to server” every time it finds a game.

I’ve tried playing on Steam and on the Blizzard launcher, but no luck.

This happened to me as well. When I try to join a Competitive game, I get to the Hero Ban phase, and then after the Bans are picked, the game errors out. I receive a “Failure to connect to server.” message, and then I get sent back to the main menu and was locked out of Competitive matches for 15 minutes. It happened a second time and I was locked out of matches for 1 hour.

Same thing happened to me as SkifBerg, locked up after the ban phase, went back to main menu with a 15 min ban and a loss of one rank of endorsement level, from 4 to 3. I was never fully disconnected from the game either, as I could still see people say “GG” in chat cause they got the notification I was disco.

I’m not able to join a game in QP or in Stadium. Plus, I got banned as well in stadium. Did SF6 skins break the game or something. I love purchasing skins and not being able to use them immediately… Perhaps I should ask for a refund?

I discovered a way to circumvent this error, although I don’t know what specifically does it. This is what I did:

  1. Joined a friend’s party
  2. Friend entered the practice range
  3. Friend left the practice range and queued up for a game
  4. Friend re-entered the practice range while we waited
  5. I successfully connect when a game is found

This exact thing just happened to me. My daughter had this happen yesterday. It doesn’t make any sense.

Happening to me right now. Waiting to see if it gets figured out.

Same issue for me since Mid Season Update yesterday.

Receive Yellow-Text “failed to connect to server” at the bottom left of my screen while searching for game.

Have tried several fixes: Such as Scan & Repair, Check for Updates, Flush DNS, IP Release/Renew, etc…

Can maybe join 1 out of every 10 games I queue for regardless of it being Quick Play, Arcade, Comp, etc…
