And it is really annoying that my healer ranking is subject to people not being idiots.
When I am a tank, I can control a lot of the fights depending on where I place my shield. As a DPS, I know who I can target, and also keep myself alive by knowing when to jump out of fights or using a CD.
As a healer? I am pretty freaking helpless as I watch Rein charge in solo with 2 HP, a Hammy drop down with barely a bar of health, DPS trickle in one by one to be eaten alive, and so on and so forth.
So what do I get for literally years of playing a healer? Watching my healer ranking plummet while my tank and DPS ranks climb. There needs to be some sort of tweak to the way healer rankings work since we are the most dependent on our team.
As is your enemy healer when the enemy does that to you.
You see, these things always go both ways.
Fun hopefully. Thatâs what I get.
I mean, I donât agree or disagree. I think the rankings are fine. Perhaps you are just better at DPS and tank than you thought or worse at healer.
Also I think the placements are a bit⌠wonky right now. It will take a bit of time before everything evens out. A bit of âgrowing painsâ if you will
And remember this goes both ways too.
A DPS canât really do their job if their healers donât heal them and their tanks donât make space.
A tank is basically worthless without a good healer on them.
Even the best player in the world doesnât have 100% winrate, and expecting to have one is just foolish. Sometimes the game is unwinnable, and you just have to GG and move on.
And a healer canât heal if they are charging in willy nilly. I can keep people alive if they are trying to stay alive. I canât keep them alive if suicide seems to be their goal.
Honestly not anymore. The gameâs damage has increased to be so fast and sharp and people are MUCH better at grouping up than they used to be. As a community we have improved to a point of the game where itâs just different now. Between characters added, buffs and nerfs, the healing feels very different from what it used to - I started as a Mercy main and have rotated my way through most of the healers, and even as a half decent Ana there are times when thereâs literally nothing to be done- not talking headshots either. Iâm just talking⌠Two to three characters focus firing on your rein for about 2-3 seconds and he is DEAD, no matter how many resources youâre pumping into his butt.
I made friends with an amazing Ana player who placed top 500 a few times. Canât play with them much for obvious reasons but played a lot of qp matches on ptr with them. No way supports are too dependent lol. A great support make you feel like you cannot dieâŚseriously. If you are a better support than the enemy, then your team basically has more.hp than the other team which is pretty big.
The skill cliff between a top 500 player and everyone else is going to be so sharp that itâs not really a comparison. This is clearly an average player who feels frustrated that they are punished due to the failures of their tanks and DPS, an understandable feeling in the way the game is naturally set up. Itâs kind of an inevitability; if you are a gold healer playing at gold rank and your DPS and tank make bad calls you are going to lose. You are not going to be able to just magically âgit goodâ and as a healer turn the tide of the game.
It sounds to me like OP is just frustrated at perpetually getting reckless teammates.
Healing is also basic math. If X amount of DPS is being pumped into my healing target and I can only dish out Y amount of healing, and X is greater than Y, they are dead.
Well, if the full on potato isnât moving much⌠Baptiste can at least keep them alive until something happens to his lamp⌠but yeah, I get what youâre saying.
Found your problem. Mercy canât heal through stupid. At all.
Moira⌠can⌠maybe heal through stupid. Depends on whether your teammates scatter to the 4 winds or not. If they donât then Moira is fine.
You may want to look into learning Ana or Baptiste. Both of them are significantly better at healing stupid on teams that have spread out than your current 2 mains.
Mercy actually can heal through stupid, thatâs what rez is for.
That being said, you actually tend to get better heal numbers when the team plays worse (if you stomp, the team takes little damage), which often causes the system to rank you better if your teammates are lousy. This is actually probably one of the main things that needs to be fixed.
Well yeahâŚif youâre a gold healer chances are you wonât get out of gold. To get out of a rank you have to consistently play better than that rank
I agree with this. Encountering god support in my matches is pretty noticeable. Usually majority of healer i meet are medicore at best and i donât mind too much but when i start noticing how good youâre playing, it shocks me. A good support reduces my death countâŚ(?)
Pretty much this. It isnât a huge deal when I am able to group up with friends, but they donât play comp, so I ended up having to queue solo for this role queue.
