It is not rare that players leave matches on PvE missions, and apparently there is no punishment at that, and even worse, no backfill. Blizzard, this must change!
I understand a related pertinent reason is another flaw, that, unlike PvP modes, once a team is composed, we have to time at all to change our chosen Hero, which sucks, since if, for instance no healers are chosen, we gotta stick with that which obviously will most likely lead to defeat sooner or later, thus some just quit.
As for quitters themselves, at the very least they should have a timeout period, let’s say, being forced to wait at least 5 minutes before being able to join any PvE mission. Repeated offenses would lead to greater timeouts: 10, 20, 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours.
I know it is too late to apply these changes now, but please make them happen for next PvE event!
this needs to be implemented in PvP more then it does PvE
One thing that could help this is reworking the “do not die”-achivements so that it’s individual instead. I see plently of people chasing that one and leaving as soon as someone dies.
Also, the “play all heroes” achivement is also dumb. I understand why people leave if they would be forced to replay the mission on a hero they have already played if they are chasing that achievement.
Tl;dr remake the achivements, they are a big problem in this.
Given these people came up with Cratered… or worse, whatever Baptiste’s is called, kind of shows that they don’t care about achievements.
Uprising missions has too many leavers and maybe I get why
I dont know why they even bother playing that mode when they are going to leave later on, either these people doesn’t have any brain cells left or they are purposely doing this to throw.
I kid you not the leavers are always the healers sometimes they stand still and the game kick them for inactivity their standing still is suspicious and looks premeditated

And the worst is when you pick a tank and the three all picked dps, like come on! Last time i checked there is no health packs around.
It would be wise game design to not incentivise players to leave, which as people have pointed out is the case we’ve currently got. You’d think the designers would have foreseen this.
To be fair those can atleast be done with multiple attempts AND they are avalible all year around, unlike timed events. But yeah, they are still ridiculus compared to some other heroes achivement.

I am really jealous… I once got really close, but the Winston randomly decided to dive… Torb’s turret. I hate whoever that guy wa, no achievo for me just because he randomly wanted a turret. So mad.

The Doomfist Cratered achievement where he needs to land his ultimate on the entire team. And they need to be specific enemies given Dva’s mech doesn’t count, and anyone with invulnerability can avoid the hit. I believe it is the second most rare achievement in the game.
I believe i have it when doomfist was launched i got it by pure luck i had a zarya and i just pressed triangle

Even ML7 only got it this year and he was really happy about it bc it’s so rare.

I kept getting into games with 2 guys that we’re clearly hunting for the no deaths player icon, because they left immediately after every death, and 90% of the time it was them dying. I got 1 or the other in every single game I played. So, it was just a cycle of getting 3 mins into Retribution, them feeding, leaving and then the rest of us leaving because we weren’t going to bother trying with 3 people.
Uh, it is interesting to know about this and earlier comments mentioned players hunting for perfectionists achievements as well. What a disgrace.
If only Blizzard allowed backfill on PvE matches, this issue I brought would be greatly mitigated. Quitters should still be punished, though.
