Certainly is more difficult to prove your rank as a support main. Not that I’d belong any higher, I think.

Ranked FFA has nothing to do with skill, or at least with any skill aplicable to regular comp. Its basically a competition about who can steal the most frags with last hit, doesnt count damage nor the frag goes to the person that did most damage so … yeah, apples and oranges.

Not many people are in ranks they don’t belong in. Only hard boosted players and maybe people who only play placements and leave, otherwise most of us are were we are supposed to be.

I’m plat and got placed plat.
I’ve seen a YouTube vid where xqc, probably t500 right now, also got placed plat.
Therefore, I should be in top500, right?

I played Moira for almost all of my games, I’m a support main. I won 9 and lost 1 game. Got placed 2610, I’ve reached diamond for 4-5 seasons in a row. My friend who is high masters got placed in low gold and he’s a dps/tank main and he won 8 games and he played Hog the whole time.
I feel like it’s less about skill and more about if you can take someone elses kill or not.
It’s weird seeing a top 500 being placed plat, cause I can clearly state that I’m not worthy of top 500 and me and him are not on the same level.

So if you usually only do placements and still think you belong in your rank? Can you say for sure or should I maybe actually play more ranked? I’m fine with gold though…
Are you actually comparing yourself to xqc? Okay then love. 
Your statement was correct that the skills required to succeed in FFA differs greatly from what you need to succeed in the standard competitive.
Everything beyond that is opinion that I disagree with, but I also enjoy FFA a lot more than normal competitive and quickplay in its current state.

You’re right. All the hitscans at high level Ranked FFA are just hitting lucky shots I guess.

IMO playing placement games alone and leave for the rest of the season you will not be playing the game. Placement matches will never throw you far from were you were cause everyday people play they get better everyday so if you play 10 games every other 2 months you may not be improving at the same pace as the rest of the people in your rank.
They have that mechanic from season 3 going on, where they deliberately place you lower in the beginning, to avoid placing people too high - because that’s worse: you can always climb a bit after placements, but losing a bunch of games feels bad.

Because like we all know, in FFA all we see are hitscans and those are always doing 200 damage or 100% damage to the target. There are no brigs, moiras, or others simply brawling and stealing frags

I started and finished all 10 today. went 9-1. Only played DF. went from vsing golds to plats to diamonds to masters and back down to diamonds. the one loss was surprisingly not against the masters.
