If your tank is bad, you lose. That’s just how it works now. Doesn’t matter how well the rest of the team plays, if the tank sucks it’s gg, literally no point in even trying.
One player. ONE PLAYER, on a team of FIVE PEOPLE makes or breaks an ENTIRE TEAM and decides they win or lose.
This is stupid, and I am so tired of it.

Yup most fun I have in this game is 2-2-1 open queue. 2-1-2 is good but it feels try hardy having two op tanks and two op supports.
Five good people beats four good people and a space heater. That’s just logic.
You say that, but once you start playing tank yourself… You truly become enlightened to just how bad things can get.

That’s not true.
If one dps sucks, you can still win. If one support sucks, you can still win. There’s another person in that role that can pick up the slack.
There is only one tank. If your tank sucks and the enemy tank doesn’t also suck, you lose. You can’t make up for them, because they are the only one in that role.
They are the most important role as well. Once tank dies, teams quickly fall apart, crumble and die immediately afterward.
This is also why I absolutely despise playing tank in 5v5, because I know that if I am doing poorly, I am the reason my entire team is losing and it’s all my fault.

Depends on the amount of suck. Are we talking ‘takes too much damage and doesn’t use cover enough’ or more of a ‘runs into the enemy team and then retreats behind cover but only from their own supports’ level of suck?
Either, same result either way.
Nah, dps will always decide the outcome. If you have two dps’ers on the team who can’t get their target priorities in order, you lose.
The tanks are just there for the enemy to build ults off of now. Nothing more.

I literally just had a match (just now, after I made this thread) where I was tank and my dps were outstanding. We still lost, BAD, because I was tank diffed.
And my whole team blamed me.
Unless you were intentionally feeding, nah. Huge dps numbers means nothing unless your dps get the correct picks eg support/flankers.
In most games tanks ate just cosmetic now and have very little input in the game besides trying to stay a live. DPS are the VIP’s in games now, theyre the ones who really decide games.
Obviously there will be exceptions but in reality most games Tanks have very little personal input in a game because it all depends on wether their team supports them.
Also most of these “Tank” players you all complain about are likely DPS/Support players who qued flex and got Tank because most actual Tank mains left because the role is so trash and unfun now in OW2

“now”
It always have been like that. In OW1 was the same, the only issue is that with 2 tanks you have more “fluff” around.
That condition hasnt changed at all. Game is faster and less forgiving now so now its more blatant lol
it can be pretty bad as a tank player when you have an instalock hanzo+widow who go 0-8 and its just you and both supports if one of them isnt too busy sniffing glue to help push which feels pretty horrible

As a tank youre lucky if you even have supports to help you too

I think that’s just a consequence of 5v5. It’d be the same if there was one support; you have one dude that can fill that role, so if your one dude is dramatically worse than the other guy’s one dude, what can you do?
To be clear, you’d feel this if you just had one support and not one good support and one bad support vs 2 good supports. A bad support can still heal and contribute, you know? However, a bad tank has no one to help pick up the slack. By design and the request of at least some people in the community.

Tank has currently next to no impact. If your DPS is getting diffed, then the game is over. Stop claiming that tank is a deciding role, when this has not been the case.

This is just tank cope at this point
Tank is single handedly the biggest deciding factor in every game. If you have a tank who just runs into the enemy solo and feeds it’s literally gg.
If it was a support or dps who did that, you can still win that fight since the other player on that role can make up for that feeders bad performance.
Like it or not only having 1 tank means that 1 player has to be good or you lose. Only way you change that is to make tanks have less impact so losing 1 isnt game over

Well you’re not wrong. As a support player it kills me to see them struggling like dis

If you have a good tank but bad heal/DPS, you lose. So, no matter in the end, you’re in 4v5.
Don’t complain, play yourself and admit your mistakes
