I Am A Console Player. I Just Need Simple Straightforward Answers

What are the best settings for playing Heroes like Ana or even Widow?

What is Aim Assist Strength? What is AIm Assist Window Size? What is Aim Ease In? What is Aim Assist Ease In? What Is Aim Smoothing?

I can’t find simple explanations anywhere.

I want to be able to adjust my settings accordingly.

Aim Assist Strength is how quickly and powerfully the cursor will hug to enemies on screen. The stronger this is, the harder you’ll have to move the fight stick to pull it from them.

Aim Assist Window Size is how big the “lock-on” area is for aim assist to register opponents. Fairly self-explanatory.

Aim Ease In is how much of a ramp your aim goes in. Normally, tilting your stick 5% of the distance to the right will move the camera 5% of your max sensitivity speed to the right. And it goes up from there. Aim Ease in makes it more of a curve, offering a larger “small adjustment” zone for little adjustments on aim.

Aim Smoothing is how snappy the aim is. Lower smoothing makes the camera move faster.

Hope that helps! It can be a bit confusing. If you are trying to find good settings for different characters, I suggest using the practice range and trying small increment changes, such as 3 at a time for sensitivity and such.

Everyone has different settings than each other, so the best setting is the one you find most comfortable.

Thanks a lot. I have been wondering about these. I need to bookmark this post or whatever. Albeit, I have been doing great with default. But still, it never hurts to tune it up. You are a lifesaver that does not save lives… But sensitivity.

Haha, no problem! And default is usually a nice go-to. And aim assist can be hit it miss. If you’re playing a character like Widow or Ana you might want the aim assist a bit stronger. For a character like Reinhardt it doesn’t matter in the slightest, and for someone with projectiles like Pharah or Orisa, aim assist can be a detriment. In those cases being able to aim ahead of your opponent is more important them aiming at them.

Hope you find what you need! I’m a console player as well.

If you’re on xbox you could get the elite controller you can swap out the thumb sticks and a few other things but the longer thumb sticks should give you better ability to aim. Not sure if PS4 has something similar…but I think it’s worth thinking about buying.

If I remember correctly Aikable has a couple good YouTube videos going over the different settings.

So many sliders and yet it still feels like garbage. I actually was happy before they added them all, now I can’t find the way my settings once felt like because of all these changes and not one person or dev has been able to give us at least some sort of conversion chart to go by.

My best friend swore by those Kontrol Freeks analog sticks, so I picked those up and it really made a huge difference.

I’m able to play McCree on a sensitivity far higher than I ever have on really any game. It makes a big difference in control. Look into a pair of those if you can.

The one bad thing about her is she does all linear ramp. I tried her settings for awhile and it never felt comfortable until I swapped out to a dual zone player

If you prefer mouse like response…

50/50
100/100/100/0/5
Exponential

Always worked well for me. Some old montages I did back when I liked doing OW videos;

You can try mine  Overwatch Console Settings from T500 3500+h player - YouTube

Worked great, but you may have different priorities too.

I swear by Kontrol Freeks
