I haven’t played it yet but it sounds like roles mean something again… tanks will have to tank and not just be DPS with big health pools, supports can viably support and not just be healbots, and DPS will be the meaningful damage dealers they should be.
This also sounds like it may mean a return to strategy and teamplay for the game. In Gold, the concept of teamplay disappeared with OW2.
Everything I’m reading in pretty much every thread makes it sound like this patch was made for us Gold players. Almost every negative post I’m seeing here actually sounds pretty awesome to me.
The funny thing about this is that it won’t really benefit the lower ranks, it’s only going to make the game easier for GM and Top 500 players. Less energy spent for more or less the same result.
The illogical part is that the game is already lacking players in higher elos. Instead of introducing this “Champion” rank, they should have added 1 or 2 new ranks below (or above) Bronze.
Edit : Most of the playerbase is going to keep the same rank anyways. The only interesting part is for players that watch high ranked streamers on Twitch to see what streamer is going to set themself apart by reaching this new “Champion” rank first.
i mean moira and mercy already existed but instead of realizing those pissbaby characters were a problem they just tried to make everyone even easier lol
lucio do not need to look at people
mercy dont have to look at people
brig as well
moira just sprays and throw orbs ina general direction
zen just attach an orb to somebody without needing aim at all
lifeweaver : LOL
kiriko needs “some” tracking, ana some aim,a nd bapt some prediction (except for his oae)
no heals are actually tough to do, anybody can take a support and heal easily
*new players.
Because we want them to stay.
Because they buy stuff.
Because they make money.
Because they keep the game alive.
We don’t want them to have a bad time and leave.
Aiming is the hardest in this game, even compared to other game, due to the lack of movement acceleration and yet it’s also one of the least important skills to be good at the game.
A streamer once said "The scariest Widows I’ve ever played against are stuck in plat. " All they do is play headshot only Widow but aim alone is not good enough to climb.
They should make it a toggle in the options so you can choose to turn off the hitbox changes for you, allow us to turn it off for ourselves and give us a disadvantage if we want.
You can even do a thing where if the setting is turned on your character has a Pacifier in their mouth and they make very loud baby noises when they are hit or are killed.
