I absolutely hate McCree/Cassidy

By the same 20 or so posters, not including alt accounts.

You shouldn’t. The small group of hitscan complainers that live in these forums think they represent the millions of players that play this game or that used to play this game.
And most people that come to the forums are whiners and complainers. It’s basically all they do on the forums 24/7.
Even when anything new is announced they still find ways to complain and cry about whatever is announced or released.

Balance is subjective what you and a few others want is to nerf all the heroes you hate, which are all the hitscans and to buff the heroes you like , which are most likely all the cheesy spammy or niche heroes that don’t require much mechanical skill.

Balance right now is decent.

The biggest problem is, even if I were to come up with a “reasonable opinion”, it gets tossed. Rather fast.

How do you doubt someone’s opinion?

No it isn’t. It’s observable by what is and is not viable in ranks where balance is a deciding factor. Different opinions on what is working or isn’t doesn’t make it subjective. It makes people wrong.

Not that it matters. You’ve admitted to not caring about balance and just wanting your favourite heroes to be strongest. You saying the game is balanced isn’t a good sign.

Generally the people who do things like making a thread that just says “I absolutely hate -hero-” dont have as reasonable and unbiased opinions as they think they do.

Clearly we need to nerf high winrate characters.

Let’s start with Torb and Sym. Who needs Niche characters ?

Let’s also ignore the fact that the more a hero is picked the more their win rate moves towards 50%.

Let’s also assume that the only reason a person picks a hero is because of their power level and ability to win.

No character in the history of the game has had an inflated pick rate when compared to their relative power.

And especially not Mercy, who has never been the most picked support when she was objectively the weakest support for multiple seasons on end.

Is this what’s it’s like to live in your world?

You say all this yet all your arguments rely on 1 thing and 1 thing only. Popularity.
You throw out winrates, you throw out Blizzards own stats that are actually trying to help the heroes you think are OP. You throw out the reasoning why certain heroes are even picked.

Everything you said sounds nice and all, but in the end your opinion always comes down to “I see this hero in my games often , so that means they are OP”.

That just means that those heroes are performing very well in their niche.
The % of 1 tricks that play those heroes in places they are weak at is small. And not enough to mess with the stats too much. Compared to the people that dont 1 trick those heroes , and only play them where they are strong.

And on top of that, Overbuff still has those heroes in the support or defense category.
And doesnt take private profiles into account.
Overbuff shouldn’t be the end all , when talking about balance.

And that’s fair, and another problem. Lots of people here seem to lack the ability to engage in dialogue with meaning, rather than just trying to be “right”.

I miss when wanted made Cassidy fun for everyone by nerfing his hp and removing fan and giving his goats era fire rate

By what is working at the very top. People who play heroes that cannot compete drop in rank.

Examples: How almost all Genji mains dropped out of top 500 last year. Also how the top 500 was nothing but Mercy during moth meta and all the Ana mains dropped out. Both Genji and Ana are extremely popular. What happened? Imbalance happened.

A common sense way to see what is or is not working is to just glance at the Top 500 and see the representation. It’s not popularity and that’s why the representation changes every balance patch. You’re either in denial or dishonest and happy with the imbalance.

Lets see, some of the most picked heroes in GM are Tracer and Ball.
Gee i wonder how teams can try to contain those speedy heroes. Its not like they have many option in the game to try to counter those heroes that are dominating GM.

Who cares? That’s nominal. It has nothing to do with the stats.

We could name the tank category “balloons” and DPS “babies” and would change nothing.

You don’t need access to ALL profiles.

Do you know how stats and scientific research works? You very rarely if ever have access to an entire population.

That’s why we take samples. And the larger the sample, the more statistical power it has.

We have plenty of data to make reasonable inferences. Most published scientific papers don’t have samples as large as we have.

No one said it was.

But it’s the best we have and provides more than enough when it comes to sample size.

Why did you ignore this.

Also

If you are strongly going by Overbuff because its the best we have…
Then why do you go against something that is even more accurate than Overbuff?
Blizzard owns stats. And by their stats he is clearly not overperforming. Quite the opposite actually. Which is why they have been trying to help out McCreee over and over again.

You cant be a hypocrite and rely on inaccurate stats and ignore stats that are the most accurate out there.

I mostly play tank and id take hitscan being viable over characters that were supposed to be niche in design any day

I’m absolutely in favour of nuking Tracer as she’s held the game hostage since launch. Do you agree?

Translation: You don’t care about balance.

Because it’s ONE potential interpretation of the stats.

Also, Blizzard numbers do not hold some special privilege.

If the numbers are legit then they can be analyzed.

Nobody here on this forum ever does. And even if they did, with say more than hundreds of likes, take a guess what the devs do?

And thus here we are today. With a huge tank shortage, RQ exceeding over half an hour waiting time, and more toxicity here in the forums because there is so much cynical behavior going on.

I’d post my reasonable opinion, but like most users who already quit this game, or streamers, it immediately becomes ignored content.

With my own opinion

No i iust believe torb and characters like junkrat stay in thier niche as designed. They were never supppsed to be a generalist pick. This is why we have had torb and sym reworks. People couldnt understand what niche meant and that it was actually balanced. Apparently when its your favorite hero niche doesnt mean balanced…
