The pricing combined with lack of earnable coin would be ridiculous either way but the poor quality of said overpriced cosmetics is downright laughable.
Like, I get Witch Kiriko is visually appealing to a lot, but from an objective stand point, it has zero unique voices, no skill effects, etc. Nearly any other game would be giving a heck of a lot more effort for that price tag, and even Blizzard themselves has put more into old skins.
It’s always good to see people waking up and punishing back. As long as you accept higher and higher prices for less and less, they will keep pushing, next year it will be 30 dollars, then the following year 35, then 40-45-50 eventually 100 dollars. But hey developers gotta eat right.
Consumers have all the power here in the world, if we can stand together and collective reject greedy practices. If 99% stopped buying microtransactions, i can and will bet you anything, that within 1 months ,they would be begging us to buy these skins, all prices would be 1$ dollar, because it’s better to earn something, than nothing.
Yea, I’m never going to give them money for OW stuff while this is their business model, which is a shame since I would have been fine buying OW2 for $40 or whatever, but it’s never going to change as long as there are whales that do pay for that stuff.
As long as there are enough of them they’ll still make more money over time and the rest of us will have to just play without the cosmetics.
They’re all outragous. This a FIRST PERSON shooter where you can’t even see your skins until your dead on the floor for a few seconds, the fact that anyone would pay $25 needs their head testing, that’s HALF of a full priced AAA game or a fun indie game.
I work full time and have more than enough money spare to spend on this game, but fortunately I have enough brain cells to realise that these prices are beyond some of the worst I’ve seen in gaming, I genuinely thought games like Blade and Soul were bad when it released, somehow this game takes the cake for overpriced skins you can’t even see.
Not that it matters as Blizz won’t care what I say, but I refuse to buy skins when they’re over £15/$17 for the highest priced skins, and to be honest I even find that’s too high when you look at the rate they’re pumping this nonsense out.
So you defended this ridiculous pricing for the past month but now that there is a skin you want you choose to put your foot down? Doesn’t work like that. You helped create this problem.
You should want the free stuff to, but the paid stuff should blow you out of the water. The skins should have loads of effects, and moving parts. Fully customizable for the price. But no, just a removed coat.
I’ve been defending Blizz going F2P and charging for skins.
However the prices are pretty high imo.
I’m not just saying this, but I’m not interested in either skin. That’s not why I posted.
I only posted because prices were relatively unknown until now for events.
As others have said, I too can afford the skins but feel they are overpriced.
I’m posting as I’m certain others are to provide feedback to Blizzard. I doubt prices will change but worth a shot.
Personally I would be ok with these prices if we earned more coin from weekly challenges or event challenges. Maybe even earn some coin for prestige bp tiers.
Maybe make that coin only usable for shop purchases (not battlepasses)
That way those of us who play a lot will get store discounts.
