There’s nothing mythic about them anyway, they’re legendary weapons at best.
No customisation, and you have to buy upgrades. The Reinhardt one is the only one I’d even consider but it’s £50 worth of prisms for a turd on a stick. You have to pay an additional £10 to set the turd on fire. Then you have to spend another £10 for something that should be free. AND THEN YOU NEED TO SPEND ANOTHER £10 for a pretty cool death animation ok I’ll give you that one.
(I know you can get it ALL for £10 and not £80?!?! by grinding a battle-pass, but that’s limited to every 9 weeks and mythic skins cost just as much AND ALSO have aspects which cost twice as much as a regular recolour should, so if you want to have your cake and eat it you need to hand over your kidneys with a bow on them to daddy Blizzard).
And it also just looks terrible with the Galaxy Guns because the fire is still red, it doesn’t change colour like how Mythic Skins do with their glow and smoke particles based on the colour.
Honestly the flourish should be free on all skins, it should have a base cost of 30 prisms and come with the build up it gets for getting kills, and then you can pay an extra 10 prisms for the death explosions.
The WORST part about these Mythic Guns though is that Mythic Skins don’t even have customisable weapons anymore! You’re just expected to buy some other thing that costs as much as the entire skin. Bound Demon looks like utter farts on Thor Reinhardt, but it’s either that or a cinder block with runes carved into it. It looks good but still, I’d like the options, maybe another weapon would be better.
Mythic weapons are strictly cosmetic, and no one else sees the extra kill animations besides the user. So don’t worry about buying them unless you can bank extra prisms from the battle pass. Mythic weapons can use comp skins, but that’s the only real customization they take.
This can also be a resource issue… time to find ways to make more $$.
You get 80 prisms for completing a $10 battle pass.
$80 dollars is rather absurd for a skin, and Blizz is wrong for even setting the price for them that high if you ask me. Ethically wrong anway, but from a business standpoint they’re only taking advantage of people who are too impatient to get it at by spenidng time rather than too much money.
So you know… don’t be one of those people. Complete the battle pass, it’s a good one.

Well my enemies will probably see themselves get erased from all existence by watching my kill feed.
And honestly with just how much stuff there is, like the worsening of Mythic Skin customisation, plus Aspects, plus overpriced AF weapons, they really need to increase the amount of prisms earned on a single pass.
I’d be ALL OVER IT if Blizzard added a 100 prism prize pool at level 300 of the battle-pass or something.
I agree, and I’m never buying prisms, but the amount earned from the battle-pass isn’t enough. I’m done, I’ve finished the battle-pass, I played competitive non-stop, climbed to Plat in all ranks, went from 0 to 3K+ comp points and bought the Galaxy Hammer for Reinhardt in just 11 days…and I’m done.
I’ll still play because I want to grind comp points, but that’s it for prisms for another 2 months.

I have enough tokens to buy two mythics, and one will be Mercy’s staff in a couple weeks. Not sure about the next season stuff either, so there’s s’more saved.
My Rein is drippy with two mythics. And if I wanted to kill their eyes, he’d be purple.
So, I don’t share this problem. I’m just more choosey about who I buy stuff with.
And I don’t know if it’s still true, but they talked about doing more with mythic weapons later. So they will probably get skins of some sort or recolors. But it’s been a minute since I’ve looked into it.
Idk man, just try being content with that for now? It’l save you money. And it’s not like you want EVERY mythic skin/weapon skin in the game, do you?
I didn’t play every season because either the game was utter trash and I wasn’t supporting it, or my computer was too busy having a stroke for me to be willing to commit. I only got a new computer and have actually been able to play the game properly under 2 weeks ago, the same day the season started.
And I play a few characters because I’m not a one-trick, so I am stretched thin.
And even if I wasn’t, I am NOT dropping an entire 9 weeks worth of prisms on a weapon. How can they even sell some of these? You’d have to be genuinely stupid to buy a Kiriko mythic weapon (because you KNOW they’ve got that in a “break glass in case of poor” box somewhere in BlizzHQ)(more stupid than people who buy every single skin) because it’s like 5% of your hud, you can see more of her hand than her weapon.

Yeah, and honestly I just don’t like the hammer. All you can do with it is change the color. It’s still ugly.
I have red Thor with a no skin Axe. I guess I wait until the year they release red skins from comp hahahahahaha

I got it when there was nothing else interesting to buy with the points for the league. It looks cool but as you said absolutely not worth the price.
Mythic, especially as they are super rare and even more expensive, should be something giga sick with a REAL special “BANG” to it.
There could be done endless cool stuff with REAL flashy stuff.
Mercies “Vengeance” skin does something to her weapon that is more mythic-effect than any of the Mythic Weapon Skins. It’s also by far not worth for the “beam”-effect alone but its at least damn cool looking.
So far Mythic Weapons and a lot of mythic skins are a total letdown.

I’ve purchased all my mythic weapons for $40 intro price each to keep prism costs down while banking more prisms, but only because I had cash to spare at the time.
