Jokes aside, Superjump allows for too much survivability for a hero that was all about staying alive even before Superjump was a thing, as her self defense is pretty low compared to others.
I used to think it’s a feature, yet it’s just another bug that’s left unpatched. Just like the bug that allowed Mercy to somewhat use GA through walls, yet it didn’t move with her at all. It was never addressed, but it was in the game for more than a year and wasn’t fixed until recently.
Before I would’ve agreed because I absolutely hate the hypocrisy behind removing Genji’s triple jump, then leaving Mercy’s superjump. However, no superjump means less Mercy, and less Mercy means even more Moira. So hell no to that. She can have it as far as I’m concerned.
If you’re really serious about removing superjump, she’ll need a sufficient buff that actually helps her teammates, or at the very least if not then she needs to be more defined as an off-healer (which seems to be the more effective way to play her nowadays). If you don’t want to give her a suitable buff then superjump can stay, it’s not game breaking and quite a few players have insisted she’s apparently fine/balanced for more than the last year or so (even though now she’s clearly not, at least in terms of appearing to be a main healer but isn’t capable of being a true main healer).
Ok but if superjumps removed it’s probably about time for another rework as superjumps the only thing propping 2.0 up at this point and keeping it viable above platinum.
I somehow always manage to press the buttons the wrong way when I really want to super jump.
And then it happens randomly when I don’t want it. So, I guess I’ve been doing just fine without it.
For people who use it consistently she’d end up being extremely dull to play and they’ll just switch to Moira.
i mean i don’t disagree but thats mainly because valkyrie takes away so much time you could be spending beam juggling and instead just have chain beams doing that for you and thats no fun.
the mobility factor is fun but i’d much perfer if she was a beam juggling main healer again instead of her current weirdly balanced off healer mobile birb despite the devs past wishes to make her a competent single target main healer.
It also tremendously lowers her skill floor, as staying alive with superjump is much easier.
As someone who has played pre-superjump and post-superjump Mercy, I can compare the survivability of each and confidently say that pre-superjump Mercy was much harder and more rewarding to stay alive with.
At this rate none of the characters in this game are going to have any tech that makes heroes fun or make the really good players stand out from the bad ones.
Mercy’s super jump stays, unless you want more Moira players.
