I find it quite sad when there are folks that get so mad at someone playing a single hero that they go and hunt just the person down the whole FFA match.
Is there a way to end that, and to help in keep some form gameplay without having salty tea baggers from crashing in and making things unfair and no fun, besides the report or avoid (of which you only get a limited number for avoids)?
My example is that I myself, like to enjoy a game of FFA playing Moira, and yes that can be seen as evil to some, but I like her, and she is on of my go to healers when playing quickplay, however, somewhere down the line there are someone get’s mad and switch to their mains, or my counters (Ex: Road or Brigs) and chase me around the map (just me) only because I’m playing the hero that I enjoy.
This is not just limited to just one “hunter” per game, but they can grow till even half the roster is against me, of which is childish and rude.
Me play Moira also leads to name calling like “he’s a moron for play Moira” or “wow, no aim idiot” that is directed towards me for just play the game, and before anyone says anything, I know that Moira is a low skill hero, but she is fun to play, and I don’t purposely go out of my way to piss folks off, I’m just playing the game.
In the end, the only thing that I can say is that It’s sad to see when a person who wants to play a hero, but can’t do to salty, aggrivated children (adults) who see to that the game is no longer fun for the one player.

I’m not chasing one person down the whole match just to drag them down, but there are folks that make in unfair for others by singling out just them.

It sounds harsh but Moira is one of the picks that are frowned upon in FFA, because there’s lots of ways for a Moira to get easy kills by throwing her orbs into an ongoing fight. It’s also extremely annoying if there’s a hectic fight going on and you’re trying to dodge multiple bullets, meanwhile Moira has it easy with her soft lock on.
It’s something you have to accept, no one can help you there. Moira will never be considered fair by the majority and you’re always going to get those people getting mad over you playing her. The best you can do is either start playing another hero to avoid the salt or simply turn off match chat and go on your merry way.

I mean, are you surprised that playing one of the most obnoxious characters in FFA garners unwanted attention?
I personally have never hunted someone down in FFA, it’s FFA. I do however prioritize killing certain characters when big brawls break out. Especially one that can yoink a kill from you last second. It’s just what you do.
Moira is considered by many to be unfun to play against in FFA. So having games where players prioritize killing you kinda comes with the hero.

You mean to say that players will focus heroes that have a disadvantage against the heroes they play and talk down to people who play heroes that can be considered cheap to play? Say it ain’t so!
I mean come on, is this really a topic worthy of complaint? It’s FFA for gods sake, this kind of attitude has been a thing since competitive games were a thing.
If you play a hero that’s frowned upon in FFA, you should expect such results. I love playing Doomfist in Total Mayhem and someone will switch to Sombra to single me out. I don’t get mad… I switch heroes.
In short, you reap what you sow.
To be fair, by playing an obnoxious hero in that game mode, you are making the game unfun for them too. It’s a free for all. I’m not sure what else you’re expecting.
it’s called a win condition, why would you ever ignore one of the biggest threats in a game environment? moira can skyrocket up the scoreboard in FFA with almost no effort, of course people are going to want to stop you, THEY want to win also.

Moira has an unfair advantage on FFA no matter what way you look at it.
People are going to kill you for it. If they let you run around doing whatever you want youre going to get a lot of killsteals, and a lot of people are going to get frustrated so why not hunt you down?
Plus they switched to counter you. You can easily switch to counter them as well.
So switching to counter is not accepable anymore?
