probably because the superjump bug don’t existi in this patch version
its about the meta, and double insta rez with a potential 3rd was the reason she’s meta no?

I Remember controlling the direction of the fights with 3 rezzes up my sleeve.
I qued for it. First time rez animation slowed me down amd couldnt superjump I stopped. Played 2 more games, 1 for sym and 1 for mei but the bad taste mercy left couldnt be washed away even with photon barrier
Wut… why would they choose the september patch when the one immediately after is way better, especially since they’re marketing it as the mercy moth meta patch? Makes no sense.
EDIT: I went ahead and checked the other patch notes between that time… Everything is generally better in the october patch? A bunch of bug fixes, sombra is less useless, Lúcio is a bit faster… literally why?
This honestly feels more like “DPS Doomfist” more than Moth Meta lol.
So many balance changes from the Moth Meta that aren’t in the game. It does feel like improper advertising IMO.
Doom lost a few techs that were possible in OG OW as well, like doing diags off the bus in Nimbani or Anubis second point.

honestly i dont know. maybe they wanted to give the most OP version of doomfist? if im not mistaken they fixed/nerfed him soon after release.
That was still after the October patch, though. The first balance changes done to him after the September patch were in February
its refreshing having supports have to run a hero you can flank in order to heal. theres no “I wanna heal but not die” heroes which is amazing.
and theres no min1 max3 so you can play what you want.
nice to have ana now too, as i wouldn’t play support otherwise. i would play a neutered kikiro or juno tho. but they don’t exist.

They lost lots of Mercy players who resisted moth meta (and it was huge then), and now they’re probably losing the other players who like reworked Mercy – they’re really out to lose/drop Mercy players. I agree this is a huge fumble – I play Ana to win, but I play Mercy for fun (which means I play more Mercy, and quit competitive OW for occasional Valorant game).
It’s the same with tanks – Reinhardt for fun, all other tanks to win (which means I play Rein a lot, lol).
I think OW is deadset on losing its casual aging playerbase at this point, maybe there’s a marketing angle to this (i.e. shift to a younger demographic), they’re really losing old people like me a lot with these shenanigans.
fr. absolutely disappointed, to call it “moth meta” and then not add in old superjump and the wacked out movement is such a disappointment. mercy feels like shes got her wings clipped. They could have atleast added a reprogrammed version of her shift+spacebar momentum movement from ow1.
I don’t get why they removed actual 6v6 tests for this nonsense.
One would assume that they want as much data as possible to properly balance the upcoming 6v6 comp mode - but apparently they don’t
so they updated the res cast time but not the actual important thing which is the GA tech… c’mon Blizzard
All I see is Doomfist in every single match and I genuinely hate it. The ONLY good change OW2 made was destroying him.
Doomfist is actually a LOT squishier in Classic. He has a HUGE hit box and no block, so unless your DPS have zero reach, zero aim, or both, you should be able to handle him.

Yeah anything is squishier than an OW2 tank. Shocking.
Doom is not squishy for an OW Classic DPS, in fact, he’s one of the tankiest of them all because he gets shields with each of his abilities that hit. Each of his abilities also CCs, and you can combo any non-tank in less than 1 second with zero setup or counterplay.
So save it with this “Doomfist is squishy” nonsense. We ALL know it’s fully dishonest.
Seems more like a testing ground for bots. 5 teammates run in getting smoked, rinse and repeat. Yeah GG blizz.
