I finally got back to Plat on all roles and was wondering how it’s going for everyone else?
I feel like team composition and hero picks are more important than ever. More so for team synergy and taking up the slack of team mates weaknesses than counter picks.
Climbed from Bronze 4 to Gold 5. Hopefully with my next placements I will get at least Gold 4.
Nice! With an initial jump like that it seems like it’s trying to move you up quickly. I reckon you’ll get Gold 3 or 2 if you are consistent.
The Mrs went from Silver 4 to Silver 1 and then Gold 4 and then the big jumps taper off once you closer to where you are “supposed” to be.
My main never got to 4k SR. Placed Plat 1, ranked up a few times to Masters 4. Stayed there after my last rank update.
Alt account peaked 4060 or so. Placed Diamond 1. Few rank ups to GM5. Haven’t finished the next rank update. Going pretty well.
One day when I’m big I’ll get there hopefully XD
Nothing special about ranking now… Win 7 games in a row and you can go from Bronze to Gold… Its when you lose 20 or 40 in a day…
You haven’t seen the OW2 ranking system since you are new to it…
Tank: silver 2 > gold 5 > gold 3 > gold 1 > plat 4 > gold 1 > plat 5 > plat 3
Support: gold 5 > gold 3
DPS: haven’t played yet

got into plat then had an epically awesome losing streak fell back to gold 1, now im winning games so ill expect to get back into plat
It’s the same as it always has been. The ranking system is still the same as OW1 with some paint slapped on it.
If you can jump that much then well done.

I’m pretty sure I’ve played more than most. I’m at about Lvl140 on the BP without having paid for any boosts and I almost exclusively play comp.
I started Bronze 5 on all roles. Currently Gold 2 on tank, but my hero pool is garbage right now, so I’m waiting for the blessed Zarya/D.va nerfs, Diamond 5 on DPS and just hit plat 4 on support yesterday.
Done playing support, most unrewarding game experience to date, this matchmaking is beyond ridiculous. Either on a team that steam rolls, or waaay more often gets rolled and the difference in ability is clearly leagues apart. Will try the other roles moving forward, they have much longer que times so perhaps there actually enjoyable
I’m climbing but it feels awful.
Games aren’t always awful but the good ones are few and far between.
Let’s not talk about how even though I have climbed 7 divisions(d5-m3 currently) , there feels like there is 0 progression.
Terrible and boring. About 70% of all ranked games get result in first minute. Usual one wicket game and not in my favor. It’s not Overwatch 2. It’s Overwatch Reforge: Just Give Money Edition.
If devs just ruined pvp no reasons to expect something good in creation from zero. Small indie studios deserv my money mo than big company blizzard with ruined name and ruined games.
I am enjoying support, Ana specifically. With Genji being played so much I am having great fun enabling mine and putting theirs to sleep XD
That might be rank related. Many have said that the game becomes more work when you get to masters and above. Personally I am enjoying the new system because the rank update is like a little suprize whereas ranking up in OW1 didn’t really have any impact or feel special.
Your opinion i guess. I’m having way more fun than I did in the last year or 2 of OW1.
I feel like that’s a player problem and not a game design issue. I have found that reverse sweeps are so much better in OW2 because your hero pick can have so much influence in swinging the round in your favor.
