For example if person plays on 800dpi with sensitivity 9, then on 1600dpi I need to change sensitivity on 4.5 so it could be the same. But what happens with zoom sensitivity?
If on 800dpi with sensitivity 9 zoom is 35, then how much it will be on 1600dpi and sensitivity 4.5 to make same sensitivity as on 800dpi? Still 35 or less?
800dpi in only example, it can be 500dpi and etc. If zoom sensitivity also need to be changed, then maybe is there some formula or something to calculate it?
Way back when I was looking for this myself as when you find that sweet spot for your zoom sens it would be nice to keep it when wanting to change your regular sens. As far as I know this doesn’t exist.
The closest you can do is a calculator like this
and you have to see what horizontal distance percentage you’re at currently and try to go from there.
For this example nothing would change at all because you’re still moving your cursor the same distance across the screen. You would leave your zoom sensitivity as is.
It’s once you start making changes that aren’t 1:1 or easily divisible that you’d have to start playing around more with the calculator.
So I understood that if dpi is 400, 600, 800…5000 no matter, then I just need to reduce my sensitivity on that % on what % dpi was increased and zoom sensitivity will always be on 35 to be the same?
Then thankfully I don’t really need calculator at all, because though there is description on website and reddit about it, but I just can’t understand what calculator is needed for. Maybe it’s just because description is very complicated or because english is not my mothertongue
From what I understand it only works if you’re doing equivalent exchange. So the term you’re looking for is EDPI. EDPI is your sens X DPI. So 800 DPI X 9 Sens=7,200 EDPI, that is the exact same as 1600dpi X 4.5 Sens=7,200 EDPI.
Where it gets funky is if I change my Sens and DPI so that number no longer equals 7,200. That is when you would have to change your zoom sensitivity to try to be closer to what your old EDPI had it at before. As far as I know there’s no exact calculator to give you the exact same settings but with knowledge of your old and new DPI and a little trial and error I’m pretty sure you can get close.
Zoom sens is a multiplier to edpi, your scope-edpi is the direct affector of how much distance/angle u move/turn while your mouse move the same distance while in scope.
scoep-edpi = zoomsens / 100 * edpi * zoom-multiplier.
edpi is the direct affector of how much distance/angle u move/turn while your mouse move the same distance.
edpi = sensitivity * mouse-dpi
