How Would You Make 6v6

People in this community keep saying that the devs did 6v6 wrong. However, they never give any suggestions as to how it should be done right?

So, How would you all do 6v6? Making it good for ALL roles?

maybe add sub divisions such as
Main tanks and Off tanks
Primary dps and Flanker dps
Main healer and Aoe healer

Its not perfect but it could possibly control a bit better how teams have to be set up to work properly. The dps sub roles are not ideal I know I just really couldnt think of any other way to sub divide them. I do think having it set up like this could limit certain team comps at least

give us priority que tickets to both encourage people to play tank and give us faster que times for dps/support at the same time.

Keep the modern tank reworks such as steering rein and 2 fire strikes… I love rein with 2 tanks but his current form is so effing boring because you can almost never risk charging because it’s so easy to just walk out of the way of a rein that can only go in a straight line, and you have to ONLY use fire strike for important moments instead of using it to gain ult charge because you only get 1 shot then it’s on cool down… it makes rein SO boring…

They should have just honestly left tanks AS IS then did weekly patches nerfing little by little (not reworking them) but just taking a little more HP away, a little more off the shields… add 0.5 seconds here and there to some cool downs etc until its all balanced out.

WTF they were thinking absolutely gutting some tanks and reworking them + no priority que tickets is just so stupid.

One hero limit, remove passives, return old ult charge, especially to the weaker tiered heroes.

Revert Dva’s original DM length but shorten the duration.

And over season push every hero closest to their meta kit.

My personal preference was the arcade like Ow where if your team was struggling a flex player could switch to whatever hero to help the team win.

Never…never give suggestions?

If your talking role que, then your kind of going to see major que issues if even one those isn’t popular on a given day.

And in a scenario’s were it’s just lock-out if someone else ques first and picks a hero. Then your going to get your main locked out, just because the other picked from a group that your hero is in.

And like many comps kind of depend on double dipping into each of those slots. tracer / genji | hanzo / widow | ana/mercy | ball / hog yada yada.

Then have issues with like counter picking were if you need say a torb to deal with the enemy tracer. if your on that flanker slot, oh well you kind of just don’t have option.

Unless they revert sombra that is.

From my point of view, for Quickplay :

-No rolequeue
-No hero limit
-More nervous gameplay (more damage…)
-No passive
-No HP regen
-Set 3 maps you prefer to play
-Set 3 maps you prefer to avoid

What we keep :

-The nerfed CC

Too late now :

-Stop realising heroes, balance or rework the one we already have

EDIT : For Competitive do what you want (5vs5, rolequeue…)

Depends what each person wanted out of 6v6. I think many people are actually quite happy with it. I think there are others who wouldn’t be happy unless it’s literally the patch before OW2 was released.

  • Take what they did as a base.
  • Put all DPS and supports at 200 hp except Tracer & Widow 150, (Torb, Reaper, Bastion, and Brig) 250
  • Remove the DPS passive entirely
  • Give all tanks knock back resistance
  • Reduce sleep dart to 2 seconds on all heroes. It lasts too long.
  • Reduce the slow on D.Va while shooting and give her 3 seconds matrix.
  • Give Rein back 2 fire strikes but reduce damage to 75 each
  • Give Rein back his charge angling
  • Reduce Rein barrier to 1800
  • Give Zarya back shared bubble cooldowns
  • Nerf Hazard’s HP by 100-150 hp. Adjust up or down as needed.
  • Give JQ 1.25x healing and see where we land.
  • Make Hog rework Hog except for take a breather should remain on a cooldown.

That would be a start. Would have to see how that works and make additional adjustments from there.

Revert season 9 changes, remove the role passives

That would already make the mode 100x better

  1. Remove hero limits.
  2. Remove all heroes except for Tracer.
  3. Replace the blink sound effect with “I’m ready for some pudding!”
  4. Replace health packs with pudding.
  5. Replace all payloads and objectives with various decorated giant puddings.
  6. Rename the game “Pudding.”
  7. Pudding.

It is mostly role passives (particularly the DPS passive), and S9 throwing off balance opportunties.

  • Remove the role passives.
  • Revert the HP and projectile size changes.
  • Revert all compensatory damage and healing buffs post S9.
  • additional tuning to tanks, such as:
  1. Keeping Rein’s 5v5 kit changes, trading shield HP.
  2. Nerf Hazard’s Spike Guard damage reduction. Reducing knockback for Spiked Wall.
  3. Tighten D.Va’s spread a bit.
  4. Reduce Sigma’s range.

These alone would make the game feel better for everyone involved.

  1. Revert pretty much all the S9 changes except for the health regeneration.

  2. Go back to giving characters individual passives to help against their extreme weaknesses.

  3. 15-25% global ultimate increase

  4. Tone down the supports. (More specifically, nerfing or reworking Ana’s nade and removing all forms of immortality.)

Main tank isn’t popular on any given day ever lol

Ageed, but the only passive I would keep is the passive healing after 5 seconds, that’s been a great addition.

This is how

That’s counterintuitive. If anything, they should focus strictly on tank and support because DPS players will queue for it regardless and if they do not, everyone gets faster queue times. There is no way to lose by shoving the short end of the stick up their…

make dva matrix block zarya beam = zarya no longer cancer, because zarya every game

I would do 2-2-2 but force all queue for Quickplay. DPS queue would be a separate arcade mode with only DPS heroes. Overwatch is a tactical FPS with clearly defined roles. There needs to be Tanks and Supports for the game to run as intended and maximize fun for players. Changing that would turn many players off the game. 5v5 punishes tanks too much and hinders the tactical nature of the game in favor of raw mechanical skill. Mechanical skill is already a thing in every other FPS, so to differentiate itself from the competition Overwatch needs heroes like Torbjorn, Symmetra, and the tank/support roster. So to keep the soul of the game while attempting to maximize revenue I’d try forcing all queue 6v6. It might fail, but Overwatch would probably fail otherwise anyways

They don’t know how to make a game themselves. All these people do on here is moan and cry because their parents didn’t care to hear them when they were younger.
