The goal of Turret changes is to be a complementary design to Torbjorn’s Turret which has range and durability. Symmetra’s Turrets should be more focused on mobility to accommodate an ever-changing battlefield. Which is why Symmetra’s Turrets will only go on cooldown when destroyed and not when she deploys more to reposition them but the limit of 3 still applies.
Teleporter
Cast time decreased to 1.5 seconds.
When deployed Symmetra must wait 6 seconds to deconstruct it herself. Then she can destroy it to build another. If it is taking damage she must wait 3 seconds to deconstruct it or she will be penalized with a 15 second cooldown. The 15 second cooldown also applies if it is destroyed by the enemy.
Photon Barrier
Can reposition the Barrier by pressing the Ultimate command again, the Barrier will not reset its HP if repositioned.
They should never have taken this away from her to begin with. Give her piercing back on those orbs, extend her beam range ever so slightly, boom, viable Symmetra.
And what happened to the shield generator ultimate? That was one of my favorites, it needs to come back on a new character, or something.
I main symmetra and I feel like ( even though she’s considered F tier ) Doesn’t need much buffs. The thing is, you barely even see any symmetras, it’s about using her in the right way based on which type of map your on. You don’t get to see much of her potential because it’s not easy to manage being a glass cannon, you just have to learn how to survive with positioning. She’s incredibly weak though but it makes sense because she does so much damage. At least she has some mobility unlike other glass cannons cough cough ZENYATTA
But things like her tp being blocked by the payload need to be fixed…that’s what I agree with.
People have been asking for it for a while - will show where the other teleporter is. like it will show you what you would see if you stepped out of the teleporter.
I would love to give her the ability to create other items with hard light.
It’s a key part of her story and I feel it would be fun to hit home with it.
Create a “Buddy” drone which will follow an ally and attack anyone who gets too close to them.
Create her turrets or combine them to create different variations. IE Combine all three for a larger mega turret
Have her gun tied into what has been created on a resource-esque system. I.E If she has no hard light creations in play, her gun is considerably stronger compared to when she has multiple creations.
(On paper these sound fun but IDK who well they would work gameplay wise)
We could, but the main problem is that its fast to charge, is not on a cooldown, and has a good radius.
When she was a support, her charge up was slow, and moved very slow. Obviously they werent very consistent, but will slap the enemies local walmart to death If hit
When I looked at this, when I also tried seeing is pierce can work, I tried to nerf its damage to 100, and tied pierce to Symmetras level 3 beam.
The feedback was negative on the idea, but it was fair points. “If you are at level 3, why would you bother firing secondaries if you are in range to get charge and microwave them”?
Which is true! But I personally dont know of there can be adjustments to my first idea, but Im not 100% opposed to the idea!
I always wished she would play a similar role to the Pyro in TF2, since her beam requires the same kind of positioning. If her beam caused afterburn she could wreak some havoc.
As it is right now, she’s often left just spamming orbs and hoping that a situation presents itself for her to charge her beam while not getting shot in the face. I don’t find spamming her slow-moving orbs to be particularly engaging gameplay.
