How would you change Rein?

If you had to change Rein in any way, what would you do? Doesn’t have to be balanced, doesn’t have to make him better or worse. It can be whatever you want.

Personally I’d make it so his rocket hammer couldn’t be deflected.

Each time Rein hits someone with his hammer they get a .5 sec stun

Quick Melee makes his hammer swing from the left instead of the right, the hitbox for a pin on charge is slightly more generous, his shield recharges slightly faster.

I don’t want him changed, I want his bugs fixed more than anything. I like him just the way he is (but I wouldn’t mind a small shield recovery buff or a passive).

Rein can keep his shield up while he’s charging

Charge hitbox increased by 10%.
Charge has better vertical tracking.

That’s all he needs imo. Too many times half of your body connects with someone and nothing comes of it. With how many counters he has now charge really needs to be more consistent.

My suggestion would be to allow him to cancel his charge in several ways, with a short recovery period depending on what you do. You can press shift again to just stop with a 0.2s recovery. You can attack to end the charge in a spinning sweep that does knockback over a wide area around him, and a 0.3s recovery. You can use flame strike to unleash a wave of fire that does 50 damage over 2 seconds (0.3s). Or you can use your ult, ending the charge in a leaping Earthshatter (0.5s).

Honestly I would like to have him have a push back with the alternate attack.

Not like Lucio’s of course, more like how in L4D2 you could use the but of your gun to shove back zombies that are too close; something like that. And it wouldn’t put major distance but just enough to get yourself re-situated.

I like this idea, hell I like most of the ideas on this thread. As for me I would like to see Reinhardt’s Rocket Hammer do 20 extra damage if you hit someone in the middle of your swing arc. In other words someone right in front of you would take 95 damage, but anyone not directly in front of you would take 75 damage. It would make up for Reinhardt’s relatively low DPS.

Here is a good one… An ability that makes his shield impenetrable by any object for 2 sec but has a long cool down. It can be called “Shield Harden” or something and Semetra or Moira (to name a couple) couldn’t be able to throw orbs passed his shield for those 2 seconds. Think of all the possible abilities he can block…

Currently the Moira orbs are a bug and Blizzard is away of that…just waiting on them to fix that.

But it’s a cool idea. Like a Fortify for his shield.

Give him some means of acquiring a 2nd hammer to dual-wield and the ability to throw said hammer like Balderich in the Honor & Glory cinematic.
