I’m assuming that eventually all heroes on the roster will make their way into Stadium. That’s the logical endgame, right? But it makes me wonder how would they make Widowmaker work in that environment?
Stadium is all about short sightlines, constant movement, and close-quarters brawls. basically the opposite of Widow’s ideal setup.
Without long angles, she can’t play her usual game, but if a Stadium map did have one strong sightline, she could instantly swing the balance and make it miserable for the other team.
I’m curious how Blizzard would manage to adapt her for such a chaotic mode without breaking her identity.

I assume builds that make her charge shots faster and probably include a get off me mechanic like ashe/illari

I predict she will be made more versatile. They’re not going to give her the ability to one shot late game unless she puts all her eggs in that basket, but that would leave her extremely squishy and vulnerable.
My guess is that they will try and make the rest of her kit more versatile instead. Her mines would be more threatening and she could get better mobility via her hook. I wouldn’t be surprised if she will be given powers which completely change her mine/hook to something totally new.
Well the obvious would be Powers and items based around Assault builds, Sniping builds, Venom trap builds. I’d imagine like other heroes normal faster shots, burning effects, auto-aiming effects, auto-reloads, doubling effects, extra power.
I’d imagine they would add extra effects like healing, maybe more play with the Grappling hooks, maybe extra hooks, pulling enemies, etc. They also do something with ult, so maybe some effects on players when you use your ultimate like it poisons them or auto-aims. Idk, I assume it’ll be straight forward, but man she might feel rough facing off against on some maps if we don’t get some more defensive items too.
