Why have a chat if all I get to read is various amounts of asterisks? At least let me see the bad words I don’t even like using the chat myself

We don’t seem to have that as a setting on console from what I’ve been reading, which is stupid. But what I don’t understand is that another console friend doesn’t have filtered chat so idk what the deal is

Try options - social - first lines are about chat filters
Consoles don’t have it. All it showed was the option to publicize our profiles.

Man, I’m annoyed because I can’t turn the filter off but what about people like my friend where it’s on by default and you can’t turn it off? That must be crappy for people hopefully they fix this
What system does he play OW? I’d like to trade places with him.
Could it be something related to the console?
A general filter under the console config?
Or maybe, linking the console with Battlenet allows you to disable it from bnet options on?

I’m on Xbox and all settings on the console are set to unfiltered, still see asterisks in game, so idk.
I really hate the sensoring, it makes reading so confusing. Sometimes it doesnt even look like it would be a bad word at all!!
