I seem to track well in bots games, but struggle with aiming with heroes like Tracer, Soldier and Sombra up close in QP. I do pretty decent at Widowmaker in QP, but if I ever have to use my SMG, I’ll just spray and pray.
the general rule to find your sensitivity is to put your mouse at end of pad and move it horizontally to the other side, you should be able to do a 360 movement in game with the space you have available.
Whats your sens and dpi?
I can barely do a 180 on my mousepad ahahahah but its ok i have a work around
whatever works for you, this is from counter strike years ago, i would imagine it would be relevant if you are used to it or play hitscan heroes.
4.4 would be around that. Why I am curious how this works is because a streamer uses my sensitivity with the exact same mouse pad. It doesn’t 360, around 320 or something
Sounds like you know its too low already. If you really enjoy playing at low sens. then you can swap over to a hard surface mouse pad and that’ll solve your issues with turning. It takes awhile to get adjusted though.
Why does a hard surface work better?
It becomes too difficult to comfortably make 180’s .
very little friction and it’s not “better” its different.
800 DPI, 4, 35 scoped
Different DPI (basically the sensitivity of your mouse)
My sensitivity is 800 dpi 3.5, 37.84 scoped. Maybe try aiming with your arm a little bit more? I find it VERY easy to aim with 3.5, my aim has never been better.
If you can’t move your character comfortably, your mouse sensitivity is too low.

I found my sweet spot by setting my dpi to 1600 and started my sensitivity at 2 with a 24" monitor. Move up in increments of 0.10-0.25 until you can comfortably maneuver, flick, track, etc. I ended up at 3.50. There are very in depth ways of calculating it, but ultimately it boils down to what works best for you.
My mouse pad is 17 inches wide and 16 long. I don’t think 3.5 would help me. I arm aim with 4. Issue is I over shoot or undershoot with 4. Can’t tell if it is too high or low
if you overshoot it’s too high. If you undershoot its too low
I just said I do it both with 4
My mousepad is 30 Cm … oof.
But if you both overshoot AND undershoot i think you just havent built muscle memory and your aim is just bad. Practice more !
You have a mcree icon as your profile pic. Your sense needs to be so low that you dislocate your shoulder when you try and flick 45 degrees or the sens is too high.
I don’t play Mccree that much, I just like the career icon lol
Then it’s probably the way you aim. Is arm aiming something you’re forcing yourself do to or is it your natural style?
