Outside of pressing H in spawn and swap to another hero? D.Va just flies at me and it feels like there is 0 options i have to escape and survive unless all supports hard pocket me. Coach gun doesnt give you enough distance. D.Va flight also doesnt care about you going to high ground. All your shots and dynamite get eaten by matrix.
Not that your ammo would be enough to demech her anyway.
well in the scenario you just described you’re saying DVA is using her only means of escape to actually just fly into you and kill you…
If you want to stay ashe and counter that, just make sure you are always in a place where doing that will punish the DVA. like staying with your team or partner DPS. If the DVA flys at you and now has no escape and you guys just demech her… even at the expense of your life that’s a worthwhile trade.
In my mind I’m imagining your playing like junkertown and you are up all by yourself in a nice sniper spot where there is nothing to stop dva from getting a free pick on you by rushing you down. just stay with your team if that’s an issue or be so far back that one boost would never reach you before you team could help.
If I`m outside of booster range then her dmg fall off makes her useless. Staying with the team is usually bad for other reasons, as you dont get any good LoS that way usually.
yeah i feel you, but any time i ever notice a sniper on an off angle by themselves im the first one in coms telling my entire team to dive it right now. easy pick.
Thats the only way to counter it man, that or pick a dps that can win a 1v1 with a tank
Yeah i usually swap to Mei, if i feel like im useless on Ashe. Wall off the tank and use cryo in case they dive me while I`m low and hope my team gets the job done. My problem is that Mei just feels very map dependend.
totally. mei is my favorite DPS because depending on the map she can secure team fight wins without even getting an elimination. but she can also cuck tons of ultimates or stall payloads etc. super versatile.

I think shes the only dps which can directly support her main tank on the frontline if they are struggling agains the enemy tank. So she compensates for that. Shes also hard to dive. She just loses the mid/long range battle. She has no fall off though, but thats misleading and can tempt you into bad duels.
-switch topic back to ashe- yeah she’s situational for sure. I am not a sniper player at all so I wouldn’t know when to make the call to switch but I still think your answer is to just play with your team or have a good support to bail you out. I main kiriko and i would have already teleported to you if i saw a dva bee lining for my sniper.
You can try and play further where dva cant reliably get to you without putting herself at massive risk first.
If the map is small enough where that really isnt an option best bet is too stay off highground or play on the edge of it where u can easily drop down to ur team.
You can also wait on the low ground until dva gets preoccupied with anyone else on ur team and then get on high ground and try and get a kill
Always save coach gun until she turns off DM so u can knock her and urself leading to max distance being made
Hey i main as Ashe and i know it’s a month old but i literally came across this while Googling.
There’s no getting away from D.va so hip fire your entire clip into her then throw dynamite and coach gun shot it to make it blow straight away. Unless shes had her matrix up the entire time you’ll demech her, if she’s already had damage, hip firing will demech her alone, so wait until shes out throw dynamite then blow it up with coach gun and this will kill her every time
