I can’t figure it out 
I just end up hugging the wall the whole time and not moving up.
Zoom out, I think it’s left click
This is a Really weird thing, i have noticed.
Some platforms allow for it, Others seem not to.
Even the zooming Feature gets me Stuck sometimes in unwanted locations, as well.
Perhaps lag plays some part in my personal experience.

Right click while ult is active to get a top down view. It’ll instantly snap to the surface directly beneath the aiming dot.

It’s right click, but sometimes it just doesn’t work at all and you’re stuck at the lower level looking at a top-down view

Ah okay, I’m on console and I’ve switched my primary and secondary fire around so that makes it harder to translate it to pc

(On Console as well.)
In your case, alt fire for the top down view. Primary lands the ult, of course.
But as Kyaw mentioned… its doomfist. He’s got a ton of bugs.
