Do i just need to activate it and then it automatically works now? I’ve seen a clip from Harbleu that after activating it, you have to go to a certain folder and put some files as well.
You don’t need to do anything inside the game files. If you have a RTX card from the 2000 series to 4000 series then you can enable DLSS 3.5 from within the game options.
What’s the link to the Harbleu clip out of curiosity? DLSS 3.7 exists now but Overwatch is still on DLSS 3.5. I myself went into the Overwatch files to replace DLSS 3.5 with the updated 3.7 version, but the BNET desktop app keeps auto updating and reverting DLSS back to the older 3.5 version.
DLSS 3.7 is much better because it further improves performance for many games, and on different tech forums people have claimed that it fixes the “smearing” or “ghosting” effect in some games. Overwatch and DLSS has a big issue with ghosting currently and so 3.7 could fix it. It’s annoying how the BNET app keeps reverting DLSS back to 3.5 though…
This one, he download another DLSS file (updated) and put it in the Overwatch file
Ah, well if he means replacing the current DLSS 3.5 file with the newer 3.7 file then it’s likely the BNET app changed it back to 3.5 for him and he might not be aware of it yet.
You can try this out yourself by downloading “NVIDIA DLSS DLL 3.7.0” from this website https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/
, then locate your Overwatch folder (This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Overwatch > retail > then delete “nvngx_dlss.dll” and replace it with the one you downloaded.
But chances are you’ll face the same problem with BNET removing it and downloading DLSS 3.5 again.
Edit: I just realized now that you can disable automatic updates by going into the BNET app settings > downloads > then under “Automatic Updates” you can select Never automatically apply updates and click save. This should prevent BNET from removing the updated DLSS 3.7 file.
will do, thanks for the very detailed steps. that’s what ive read as well, Bnet is annoying according to harb as well.
Thank you!
No problem
I played around with DLSS 3.7 in the practice range just now and the game isn’t using as much VRAM which may help with performance ever so slightly at higher resolutions. The ghosting is still present though but I feel like it isn’t quite as bad compared to DLSS 3.5.
