- Odd/Even order teams. MMR ranks such as best to least
Team 1 has players 1,3,5,7,9,11 and team 2 has players 2,4,6,8,10,12. Currently it is now Team 1 has players 1,8,9,10,11,12 and team 2 has players 2,3,4,5,6,7. You know when youre number 1 because you have gold everything and your teammates dont know what healing is and wont push W.

These three simple things. I was ok with being Bronze when I was lv 25 I didnt know what I was doing. Then after about 200 hours played I realized something wasn’t right, I knew what I was doing, I knew how to play but my team mates would drop the ball constantly. Being curious I bought a new account and played my best possible in QP before placements, then did placements with a mind set of just dont die. Ended up with 2693 PLAT. It’s a shame really but I guess it sells more accounts. You really only know your true rank if on a fresh account doing solo placements. After that its up in the air. I can be on this account and play fine in Plat and then play on my original account and get crapped on in Bronze and fall 200 SR. Ive even played in Bronze with a top100 Winston main and we wouldnt win every game, he would point out that every team, every game had a smurf that he would have to deal with and the rest of our team played as if they didnt know what a choke or healing were.
If you want the community to be happy you have to let them feel that their Rank is a real reflection of their skill. Right now it isn’t and that’s a hard fact for Blizzard that they dont want to deal with because of the effort they put into the system they have. But hey you know what also helps sales? the set up they have in place. soft locking people into their rank. Now mind you I know it is possible to climb. I climbed over 1k SR but it was not fun at all in anyway. My steps listed would pull smurfs out of rank unless they wanted to commit to throwing in QP/Arcade 10-20 games in a row every so often.

People like myself work our way up the ladder the hard way. I’m afraid of a reset, besides it’s completely unnecessary and will create problems. If you wanna climb consistently: 6 stack.
After you placements (every season), you get like 60 sr every game. If you’re good and six stack you can climb.
At least in silver gold, and you’ll lost those players with resets.

I dont care about win/lose SR like a use to be, and i am having a good time.
At the end video game is entertainment, not your life goal so dont take it too serious.

The only way this game stays fun for the long haul is by buying new accounts. In other words, a reset.
Apparently for streamers, the only fun thing about the game these days is to get a new account and do the ol’ Bronze to GM crap.
The most fun i had was the placements for the new Open Queue, when there didn’t seem to be wild swings and the skill of teamamtes. I could TELL it was just random old games… and went 23-7 across three accounts.
That is, until after placements when suddenly it’s non stop idiots when the MMR is active.
Reset each season. Make the season a bit longer.
And this is how people tend to play a lot of games.
It’s more interesting to do a game+ than to keep playing the same end-game.
It’s more interesting to make a new WoW character than to keep grinding the same end-game.
In a way, aged account OW is kind of like a PvE end game.
It’s more fun to start a new one.
And rather than make people buy new accounts to do this, they should just reset each season.

Do not reset every season, literally gonna either boost people, help smurf/thrower and make the game where gm and bronze can play together for months.

I don’t know why people want this. I have 7 accounts within 200 SR of each other. It’s not going to put you much different than you are now and if it happens to place you wildly different because you got enabled more than usual you’ll fall in the long run.

What currently happens is when there is a new season you can be absolutely awful and still get close to your old SR, or you can play out of your mind good and you will just place around your old SR. Imagine if you will a person who does a season and places silver. They put in a lot of hours in QP finding what they really like and settle for their 3 mains and play next season. Poof. Same rank even if they play at a diamond level. How is THAT fair? If you play at a Diamond level you should PLACE diamond not be hard locked into silver until you are forced to climb or have to buy a new account. If the system uses MMR on the hard reset for comp you WONT have GMs playing in Silver and Bronze for a month as you say because the MMR range would be to big. Its not only me, my friend who is in Plat played on his wife’s account for fun once and did placements, ended up getting placed at Silver because that was her rank from the previous season.
Don’t be afraid of a hard reset. If you are a GM you will place GM. What evidence do you have that you would place anything else? Also this method I suggest would thwart smurfing as a GM player would have to throw many many many QP games to lower their MMR to end up placing in Silver. As opposed to just staying in silver because of no hard reset.
and yes is IS your only true time of knowing rank! Why do you get to climb because your mate poped off or you tank clutched. You cant have a personal skill rating for the actions of others in a team game! Thats why MMR is more relevant, it looks at data you see whan you hit Tab such at deaths, accuracy, objective kills, assists, etc etc plus unknown parameters.

the most unfair troll move for those who are legit trying to climb from a lower rank is to just keep telling them it’s pointless without a new account. Being that’s just simply not true.
Just like almost all the claims of lowest rank on one account but hey 2000+ higher on a new on are mostly lies also…

Please explain and/or assert with math? An SR reset (to the middle) is literally (as in, mathematically) the best min/max decision you can make. It minimizes disruption and accelerates mobility for the most people.
All heresay, hyperbole, and false opinion. Again, I encourage people like you to put the game down for an hour and learn some math.

Incorrect. You haven’t factored in the position-dependent collision probabilities. A top 1% won’t meet a bottom 1% more than once in 100s of games. This whole “GMs with Bronzes oMeGaLuL” shows why this gaming generation is the fall of Rome.
There’s literally no reason to have a rank reset after every season. I constantly place plat for my first season on any account and will always manage to climb to atleast mid diamond. Having a rank reset and having me constantly place at plat and having to climb back up again isn’t going to make me wanna play or anyone else.
Not to mention. What would be the purpose? People want rank resets because they believe they don’t belong at there lower sr. That’s it. Anyone diamond and above? Could not care less as they have no reason too, all they can do is climb, they physically aren’t going to place mid diamond or masters on a new account. And rank resets is essentially that, a fresh wipe of your rank (the same as buying a new account and doing first season placements.)

I just say GM with bronze bcs it’s the most blatant thing ever. But just say a plat against a bronze still same thing the bronze will get outmatch. Resetting every season is useless and you can’t change my mind about it.

I just gave you the single largest most impactful reason. This isn’t about you or your experiences. No one cares what you/your bros did with their alt accounts.
If you want to ship the most people to their proper ranks with the least disruption overall, you reset. Class dismissed.
Resetting won’t change a single thing for most player they will just fall back right where they were. Some will go up but like how many out of a 100 ? maybe like 15 max ? Most people that complain about their rank are actually in the good rank. If you want to find your true rank play more than a 100 game in a season and you will see.
