One thing OW can do better (and seeing the success it has in MR), is to improve the vs. AI mode.
Simple things they could do:
- Allow for quicker match making by allowing people to gain XP and complete challenges.
- AI team mates, (at least until the population goes up).
in MR, I chill with my casual friends by playing vs AI. And it’s a blast and chill. Would play OW a lot more with my friends (who are casual) if it did.

In Mahvel we want less vs AI, and in Overwatch you want more vs AI. Life does not give you what you want…

There’s small amount bp xp gained in AI. Although being able to complete challenges would be great!

I played vs AI with my friends who were just starting OW. The AI did better than most gold lobbies I’ve seen. Take from that what you will

It just means that most people never learned how to play the game in the intended “practice mode”. And the rest of us suffer for it.
I’ve chatted with people who had no idea that an ai mode exists at all.

OW is a PvP game and AI is a waste of time and more for understanding to play heroes than to actually play it. Play a PvE game and have fun there.
You are not a casual gamer for playing AI. You are just in the wrong game. Its like playing the tutorial only…

Sorry, I want to play with and against real people, not bots.

Nah. Playing vs ai is pve.
We get to enjoy the chatacter abilities and fluidity of movement, without angering anyone.
Also. You can pretty easily get to a gold skillset just by playing the vs ai in ow.
I got to plat 5 just with vs ai and mystery heroes oq. If i cared to grind rank and climb, sure, ai has lost it’s usefulness.
But it’s not as bad as many people say.
You learn how to dodge aimbots, you learn to take cover if you don’t want to die to aimbots, you can learn where hp packs are and maps you aren’t very familiar on.
All good basics that you then build the pvp experience on. You can basically skip the cess pool that is bronze and silver mmr if you learn your stuff before your first qp games.

I saw an AI Rein cliff-charge someone and it was honestly the funniest thing I have seen in a while. Dude was completely unprepared.
To be fair, easy AI in MR is already stronger than difficult AI in OW
I don’t know how that is happening but it is happening

Sounds like you’re looking for PvE…
Me too friend, me too.

Blizzard should just add a proper story campaign that can be played either solo or with teammates ala Borderlands style.
The world of Overwatch was super engaging and a big reason why a fan base exploded was because we loved seeing the world and lore unfold as we learned more and more about the characters in it.
Too much of Overwatch’s world is teased and hinted through dialogue exchanges at the start of each match. When can we properly experience what our heroes go through?
Blizzard abandoned all AI-related aspects. They canceled the entire PvE, a glorified vs. AI mode.
I assume you are requesting minor bot improvements for a more natural game mode, but even that is substantial work for Blizzard.
They prioritize PvP; they fired most PvE developers, and their PvP is full with unsolved problems.
Imagine pressing Tab and finding out you’re playing against ChatGPT! …And then realize you only have Copilot, Cortana, Clippy, and Microsoft Bob for your teammates. (Yikes!)
