How to get out of bronze?

I actually want to do things that aren’t spawn camping, or get murdered by 5 people whilst my team is dicking off somewhere.
I actually want to set up at a choke point.
When I had 4 golds, and my team lost a comp game, I did not drop or go up. Yeah I suck, obviously, but “giting gud” isn’t really a solution when it’s a team based game where you can rank up with tactics (that your team isn’t doing.)

So, how?

STOP SOLO QUEUE. STOP SOLO QUEUE. <- The best answer you will ever get. I climbed out of 700 placement in season 9. Almost silver now lol.
You can group up with me. I am at around 1400. Main soldier, tracer, mercy, moira + dva/winston. Add me: Actsssassin#1412

Ah, I would be glad to but i’m on console. Most of my friends kinda just don’t have ps4 too. Cant really make new ones because of my baby voice. Thank you for the offer.

I suggest learning the basics of the main tanks: Reinhardt, Orisa, and Winston.

Mercy is a pick entirely dependent on your team doing well, and Zen and Sombra are far less effective without team support.

Playing a main tank (and knowing what tank to use in what situation) will give you a significant advantage on the ladder. If you can play a decent Reinhardt, Winston, or Orisa you’ll have a much nicer time.

Heroes that don’t require much aim. Moira, Winston and even Symmetra should be good. Also, you’ll probably need better map awareness.

but in honestly. Go into comp with atleast a 3 stack. I hard climbed from 700 to 1000 by solo que ing. But then it got hard for me cause of useless comp and bad matchmaking. Ever since then I started playing with 4 stacks and the climb has been so easy.
Even now I get tempted and do solo queue and thats when i drop lol. Whenever i do group i always climb.

This is true in bronze, dps are way better relative to skill of tanks.
So whenever you have a really good tank its almost a guarantee win.

Took me multiple seasons but i climbed from bronze to diamond so first off anything is possible and 2nd this was my first fps and i was on a s**tty computer in the start for bronze and silver ALWAYS 6pack NO EXCEPTIONS and for gold onetrick roadhog all the way to high plat (or any completely self sustained hero)

Be wary of 6 stack tho, after like 4 - 5 wins straight you get really hard opposing teams. So ideal situation is 4 stack.
And damn man congrats. Same with me, when i first picked up game i didnt know anything and any hero i touched i couldnt do enough damage. So i one tricked bastion and dropped from first placement of gold lol.

No, 6packing is the only way out of bronze.
if you climb in any other way its PURELY luck
6pack allows you to beat the enemy based on skill even if difficult and THATS what I found to be most important in bronze AND silver

ahh probably. Whenever I go on 6 stack we go on win streak and then get really hard matchups so I immediately stop after a session of like 5-1 or like 6-1 lol.

Do that twice a week and you’ll climb fast as hell

Learn the basics of the game, get a comfortable sensitivity, and play your main as often as possible

this is also true haha

Im on PC so this may be irrelevant but I mostly climbed solo q to silver from placing at 1000 sr. 3 things I did were:

  1. Have 3 mains, 1 in each category, which I excelled on.
  2. Duo-queuing wherever possible.
  3. Stopping the moment I made a net + sr.

You get killed alone, it’s your problem, stay with team, ask team not to overextend.
If you want teamplay, use voice and stay with a team.

thank you guys for the tips!

duo quo isnt enough because there is still chance of getting matched with 4 bad players who doesnt wanna do anything properly. 4-5 stack is the way to go. Or maybe even 6

If you start getting into large queues you’ll face harder enemies from higher sr to offset the fact that you’re 6-stacking.
