How to get better video quality on obs

this might be a weird question but idk who else to ask, i started recording my game play on OBS and the video quality looks horrible, it looks like smth out of 2004, pixelated and blurry. anyone know how to fix it?

You need to increase the bitrate.

If you have an Nvidia GPU be sure to use Hardware (NVENC) as the encoder, Rate Control = CBR and Bitrate of 8000 should be good. The higher the bitrate = better quality but large saved video files.

If you have an AMD GPU then use their encoder if you have the option. If not then you’re stuck with software x265 which will use a LOT of CPU power.

FYI, if you have a very high powered CPU then Software x265 will result in a better video outcome than using something like the NVENC encoder.
