How to get a name like mine!

Hey all, you might have seen someone in a match of Overwatch that has a name like mine, with spaces in between the letters. In this thread, I will teach you how to get a name that looks really cool in Overwatch!

The first step is creating a new account. You can’t change your name to something like this if your region isn’t set to Japan from the start.

When creating the new account, set your region to Japan. This will allow your username to have the font like mine.

Once you have your new account with the region set to Japan, you must download a Japanese keyboard on your Windows Computer. Windows already has a system in which you can do this. You can do this in your settings by selecting “Edit language and keyboard options” in the Settings.

If you added the Japanese keyboard to your keyboards list, you are able to toggle between keyboards via the shortcut Win + Space.

Now that you have the Japanese keyboard ready at your disposal and the new account ready to get a battletag, you can now create your spaced username!

When it asks you for your battletag, switch to the Japanese keyboard, and right click the ‘A’ that appears in the bottom right corner. From there, select ‘Full-width alphanumeric’ and type in whatever spaced characters you want!

Now your battletag has spaced letters in it, and it will look really cool in games like Overwatch. I hope this helps!

It would be cool if they implement it as an option when changing your name in general. Another good way to be creative with names.

now blizzard will see this and remove it

That would be cool but you lost me at needing to make a new account to do it.

If memory serves I think there’s a certain Korean(?) character that will also cause this effect if your username contains it. Not sure if that method also requires a new account or not though.

do you know which char? i have a korean acc im trying to do it w

Well they’re two years late then.

wish u didnt have to make a new acc to do it :frowning:

Hello new friend. Just so you know the last comment in this thread (aside from yours) is two years old.

do u know any other special character letters i could add in my user lol

Nope, but I’m pretty sure Blizzard lets you change your name. I think the first one is/was free, but the rest cost money.
