Start out with adding another “report” option on the menu named “one tricking “
The function would be there to label players that won’t switch into a specific category of their own. So that the system can recognize who they are.
Problems:
People getting singled out too fast or getting flamed for doing well and not switching or enemy team reports for doing really well and not switching and etc
Solutions:
You have a minimum of reports before you get labeled I’d say 50 people must report you and you must have a play time of the match you got reported from of over 80% of the match on one hero. (Ex. Playing hanzo all match then switching at the last min to not have all play time on one hero.) roughly put have it to only accept reports if the person didn’t switch within 2mins of the ending of the round NOT MATCH. Reason why it’s two mins; that’s the average time of someone to get the ult in the game and then still be able to make an impact.
How it works.
-
Player meets the requirements to be reported for “one tricking” .
-
Player continues to get reported to the official number of reports.(50)
-
Player receives a notification from the game they have got players not enjoying the game due to them not switching heroes and if continued to do this they will be placed in a separate queue.
-
Player continues to doing the same actions and gets placed in a “jail” type of queue for the two weeks.
-
Player one trick report gets resets up to three times. After you get labeled three times you get placed in the queue for the remainder of the season UNLESS season ends with less than two weeks. If season ends with less than two weeks the player will start out the next season with the “jail” queue.
-
The player one trick gets reset after the season “jail” queue.
HOW JAIL QUEUE WORKS:
Once players are in this they will be able to play the game normally BUT will get paired automatically with more one tricks until the “jail” gets full enough to sustain a whole gorup of servers that have the same rank and one trick reports.
NOTICE the game does not take away players from playing the game how they want but it will help separate players in solo queue and trolls to a more of their own playstyle.
WHAT THIS WOULD SOLVE:
Hopefully this would solve the one tricks by putting them with the same people so they can understand how frustrating it is to play with them. It would also help with other people complaining about playing with these people to know that there is something in place to separate these types of players.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT
if your a labeled a one trick and you want to group up it’s should notify the other teammates that this player has been reported for one tricking and has been placed in the “jail queue”.
If you party with one then you and the group will be set in the same lobby as the one tricks. This pop up will only happen if you join a group.
If your are already in the “jail queue” and keep getting reported while already labeled then they just add up to the second and third offense until the season wide placement in the “jail queue”
This report button only applies successful reports if it is in competitive it will not activate in any other game mode.

lol yeah i doubt this would ever happen. The uproar on social media would be too much.
HOW TO FIX ONE TRICKS
Ignore them. Play the game, quit moping that they’re doing something you don’t like.

How so? It’s not punishing anyone for it? It’s putting you with your same playstyle

For starters i dont like this idea. I would rathet have the one trick play the one hero they know how to play instead of them feeding as a hero they cant play at all. If you want that avoided then you are basically saying to get good. Which is not fair to that player. And many.people have diffrrent opinions about what one tricking is. If someone on your team is tilting and think their one trick isnt do anything when they really are then that is unfair for the one trick.

ez, if you have problems with them make your own team…

I think this way of thinking is how racism starts… You start by segregating people into categories, then you add a way of thinking that makes one category feel superior to another…

So because the player wants to play sym against a Winston or a zen against sombra and they keep dying because they are getting countered and your team asks you to switch to a different hero and you don’t it’s not fair? That is one tricking isn’t fair to the other 5 people on your team. If your playing dps you need to be able to play other heroes than just reaper or doomfist.
Like I said in the post your wouldn’t get in trouble or banned you would be placed with the same type of people

One tricks can be a big help if they are skilled enough.
One tricks just need to try their best, carry their weight, and get on the objective👍
If they can’t do that, then Jelly isn’t defending them.
If you can hold your own with your favorite character, then by all means, play that character. But if you aren’t contributing and you know it, then the problem is you.

So what you are saying is, is that the player needs to get good. And there is already a place for that. Bronze. Because thats where people mostly one trick because they are trying to find a main. Ur story with sym however is different. If they dont switch knoeing they arejt doing anything, then its their fault. However maybe they are just plain out stupid and dont know. In another case a good symmetra might be doing well but a toxic player claims she isnt. So if ur system were to be put in place. Good players.who are misunderstood will be teamed up with bad players.making the already bad matchmaking system even worse. Good idea but you gotta think about gow it can be turned for thw worst

Well, if more people reasoned like you Jelly I would probably be playing the game still… Unfortunately even though I played Mercy when nobody else wanted to heal, and even though I mostly only played in quickplay, people simply hated me just for being a one-trick and didn’t even wait to see how well I performed as Mercy before they let me know what a terrible human being I was (as insults usually started at the character select screen in the beginning of the match).

This is why there is a thing of 50 reports before you get the notification of getting labeled. 50 reports is EVERYONE on both teams reporting for the same thing.
Stuff like this is why I’m clearly in favor of hiding our career profile.

Did you even read the whole post?
I honestly think “avoid player” would help address the situation. This feature goes both ways. Elitist players who don’t want to play with a certain one-trick gets to avoid a limited number of players, and good and capable one-tricks who don’t want to play with toxic players get to avoid those.
I think a lot of toxic players are going to find that good healers and good tanks are hard to come by after a while…

It does help some but why can you not put all people that are one tricks in their own lobby to play with each other. If you don’t want to switch then that’s fine with me but I don’t want to play with people that can’t or don’t want to play another hero. And the whole “get a team” needs to be more for the people that don’t want to switch so that they don’t ruin other people’s games.
Just read the OP.
