Since toxicity level is quite high in this game, I want to share some of my thoughts and would like to hear some good suggestions from you guys.
1.When you see someone typing “xxx diff” “team sucks”, instant block + report , this is a person who generally blame others for no specific reason, you potentially save yourself from more dirty words coming from this guy in this or future matches
2.When you are doing alright, but suddenly 2 other guys start to blame you at the same time , they are most likely a stack.Do not answer them or type anything in chat , just block them and avoid one of them. This will potentially save you from their group report, you are clean if you don’t type anything at all and avoiding one means avoid the whole group.
3.When someone tells you what to do, do not say “No” if you disagree, just keep silent . Instant block it if the guy follows up with anything bad
4.When you see trash talk before the game begins, no matter if the guy is talking to enemies, block + report, the guy without manner won’t say anything good either once your team is on losing side.
But this is a team game , communication is necessary. I also don’t want to lose the chance to report bad behaviors, contributing my 2 cents for the community
I personally don’t engage in game with anyone who doesn’t have manners. But I’ll report “Ez” “bots” or whatever other toxic things. If someone is reasonable and fun, I’ll talk with them. But as soon as someone goes toxic, I’ll just go radio silent.
That is a disservice to those members of your team who are wanting to be able to communicate and coordinate with the whole team.
Communication is a key component of teamwork, and teamwork is required to successfully and consistently complete objectives (which, in Overwatch 2, is typically winning the match).
If you refuse to join team chat, you are basically throwing.
I certainly hope you’re not playing any game mode where the ultimate objective is to win with an attitude like that.
Most of the call outs in comms are incorrect, switch recommendations, incorrect. Comms are pointless and counter-productive except at the higher end of the skill spectrum. Most bronze - plat will be better off without comms distracting them.
Pings more than solve the no-comms issue, as they communicate something useful (i.e., enemy there).
Right?. Wrong. I have no need for communication. Since it’s rare to even communicate.
We win some and lose many. Why do i care about attitude for some damn game that is meaningless.
Also by uncaring i meant. Not giving a damn what your team-mates says like “you suck”, “you noob” & “pick some other heroes”.
Again with your communication. I communicate plenty with ping system (enemy here, enemy there), (Press “Z” to coordinate with team for push), attack that position in 3…2…1 and so on. I communicate plenty without needing voice or text.
Finally someone that understand. Comms is pretty useless in Bronze & Silver. The only times it’s useful is above Diamond.
I hope in the future all text & voice is permanently removed from all game. If people want to communicate they can get discord or whatever alternative exist.
With new ping system, you don’t need chat.
It’s context sensitive and you can bind certain information (ie: i am moving/looking here, attack, fallback, group up, etc)
You are not playing a solo game. You are playing a team game.
Again, you’re not playing a solo game. Stop with the “I”.
If you don’t care and the game is meaningless to you, then you need to stop playing team games because not everyone on the team will be thinking the same way you do.
What you are doing is throwing.
It is indeed useful, but it is in no way a substitute for team communication. You can call out “Reaper flanking Zen” faster than you can ping.
Or you can skip scenarios/steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 and just disable chat like an adult instead of interpreting “xxx diff” as anything but playground banter.
I often report, depending on how trashy the chat was. But as some on here are suggesting others to leave the chat and play silently in a void; if you have to do that, it means the player base is too toxic. With the current state of things, until they put in matchmaking, these one-sided pubstomps are just going to lead to increased toxicity. This is purposely done by Blizzard to introduce new players to skins of veteran players. It’s also a horrid way to treat a player base.
For one. I stopped using voice due to people making fun of my Indian accent. Plus i’m nervous enough playing online game and i don’t want more of it by speaking.
Second. I play support and dealing with flankers is my job on a daily basis. Say if i used voice and said Reaper here and team-mates said where. That is extra time lost and by then i would be dead. With ping system. I just press “T” and it let all the team mates know the flankers location instantly. Peeling however is a different story.
I been playing team-based for a long time starting with Team Fortress 2, Paladins and GTAO heists which requires team effort. I have got along well without communication.
throwing??.. Like it matters in QP or in Arcade. Where i spend majority of time.
