i played tank right now and a tracer was destroying my team, everyone was with a tracer counter but everyone played so bad
and my other tank was a hog main
how can i counter this monster?
Hog is probably the best counter in the tank category, but take that with a grain of salt.
Even tracers blinks have dev preferential treatment latency wise. Iām a decent enough hog but in games against a tracer I have probably 3-5 hooks on average per game break because tracer decided to blink at the moment I hooked her. Still latches onto her, but immediately breaks.
The downside is that hog is arguably the easiest tank for her to farm pulse bomb off of too.
Realistically, the dps should mostly be the ones taking care of her. But itās difficult. She has powercreep in her kit with the fall off range, supports have mostly all been nerfed to a point where theyāre not reliable counters anymore (I.e Moira and brig damage/ survivability nerfs over the years).
The game is mostly in her favour right now, the only thing keeping her back is mccree, but heās just as busted.

i tried d.va, sigma and zarya
all of them were eated by tracer
how am i supposed to do something?
iām grateful their team didnt had mcree or hanzo, we would lose instantly
Yeah itās unfortunate, but even with those characters (mostly other than mccree) it comes down to skill to kill her.
Play someone who can save your teammates. Zarya or D.Va would probably be the best bet.
Tracer has no real counters, you just need to diminish her valueā¦ and pray that your team can out-play her.

Well I think thatās your answer. She was better than your team. The game has shifted back closer to its release state, where itās more about counterplay than counterpicks.
But generally speaking, Hog is a good pick. Sigma can be if his aim is on point, since he can immediately force recall. Zarya can be really good because of her bubbles. Throwing a bubble on Tracerās target instantly ruins her flank.
Regarding the other rolesā¦ McCree is good. Mei isnāt, unless sheās an icicle expert. Soldier eats Tracer alive but many seem to sleep on this.
Brig and Moira arenāt good picks. They mean nothing to a good Tracer. Ana is a bigger threat because her burst healing can quickly ruin Tracerās kill attempts. Bap is good because he can peace out of the fight whenever he wants. Tracer has bad verticality so she can rarely chase him down. Lucio is generally good.
Play dva and peel the tracer.

DVA, no real question about it you can chase her if she has low CDs and basically DM everything she wants to do if she is actually carrying aswell as controlling her lane

You bend over and accept that youāre not meant to be able to deal with her. Maybe land a lucky hook i guessā¦
Rein is pretty decent, just swing in a circle, and thatās a huge area that Tracer canāt stand
a bad brig means nothing but a good brig does mean something the problem is there isnāt any good brigs since brig requires gamesense which 90% of the ranks dont haveā:grin:

If you play Hamster, keep pressure on her. Like even just rolling at her to reduce her hp. Tracers will become skittish if they take any sort of decent damage and will either cause a recall or retreat. Hamster hook is on a lower cooldown so you should be able to roll her over again then chase her with primary fire until she dies.
For some reason she is the only hero to have her movement abilities to NOT favor the shooter, its broken ngl. So much favoritism.

Iām sorry to tell you those monster Tracers donāt have an actual counter.
You need your teamās help to stop a good Tracer from driving your backline crazy.

Itās not your job. You trying to ācounter tracerā is just going to distract you from what IS your job, and mean the rest of your team canāt do their job.
You need a healer or DPS to hang back and deal with her, if you let her distract you sheās doing her job and winning the match for her team.
Tracer is a great āannoyanceā character, same with Sombra. Iāve been praised for how good a job Iām doing at being annoying when my kills are really, really low, because disorganizing and distracting the enemy team so your teammates can capitalize on it is just as valuable as you killing them yourself.

That just means the tracer blinked before you hooked her. There are plenty of occasions where I blinked but get hooked and snap back because the hog hooked me first. The only preferential treatment is towards whose action occurred first according to the server.
Dva is a very good Tank pick to contest a Tracer. Nothing a Tracer can do about Dva using DM and spraying her with missiles.
And if that doesnt work, Dva can body block with armor and her big HP pool.

As a Rein, Iāve found just swinging away will result in about 85% of belligerents simply saying ā**** thatā and backing off
Just like when you play dps hero vs Tracer, you need to catch Tracer out of blink. Most Tracers blink straight lefr-right which is a bit predictable position
Pesky Tracers can see you launching hook so they simply blink away
Probably D.Va. Youāre mobile, youāve got armour (Tracer sucks against armour) and you can eat those pulse bombs.
