Just abuse deflect as I do on this vid. That Genji used ult and swapped, and sometimes it’s just free sr. Pretty useful trick against deflect.

Reason why McCree is seen as “bad” by some people is because people cant aim. Any decent mccree with decent aim has the advantage over flankers before his 25+ hp buff. Idk why people keep thinking hes underpowered STILL when hes the #1 picked, let alone hes a very well rounded dps now that needs like a nerf or two to be toned back. The minute these people start hitting their shots, they’ll realize that mccree is a bit overbuffed

youd be surprised. people would bring back something like mccree’s flash nerf duration a long time ago only to be reverted back recently, but yet people still would say “NAH GOTTA BUFF MCCREE BC MCCREE WOULD BE TRASH IF YOU BUFF GENJI. MCCREE IS ALREADY BAD, GENJI BROKEN AND OP.”
like i said: i’ll say it once and i’ll say again. people who actually still think mccree is bad cant aim generally. mccree is all aiming and he simply counters himself by the player’s skill level playing him. literally a flash -> fth which is legit one of the easiest things to pull off in the game destroys a flanker’s day so well. or any squishy. let alone its good for bursting down tanks and shields well if anything. hes been fine before the 25+ hp buff… now they just gotta tone him back a bit or two.

Yep, mccree has always been a high skill floor hitscan that is always more viable then people seem to say. I don’t think he was bad during dive, considering how Pine rolled multiple OWL teams running some of the most coordinated dives in the world
You just have to have good mechanics, game knowledge, and positioning to get value where as some heroes just need two

That Genji failed to gauge the distance and didn’t even hit you with the dash and ended up quite a bit in front of you. That’s why you were able to flash the ground in front of him. A proper 180 combo would have the Genji hugging the McCree with Deflect up to stop any flash attempt.

Wrong answer. A propper Genji wouldn’t be diving a McCree. Anyways that’s why I said how to counter Genji in lower ranks. And this is a game of Diamond.
Even though he’s just in front of him, McCree can flash the wall (if there’s one) the left or right side ground etc. McCree wins the duel
So you’re saying to counter Genji in metal ranks you need to pick McCree and wait for Genji to make the mistake of diving you?
In any case, the Genji in the vid decided to dive a McCree and failed his combo so this is not a good how-to-counter-Genji advice.

All they do in that video is get lucky to throw a stun when Genji wasn’t deflecting.
That is pure luck, there’s no reason Genji shouldn’t have immediately deflected.
You depend on the luck of your Genji opponent being bad. You cannot depend on Genjis ever not-deflecting.

There’s no reason Genji shouldn’t have deflected there. If he had he’d have not only blocked the stun but reversed the effect of the stun.
That’s not what the video shows.
You just said “they should have done what they did in this video” now you’re saying “oh no of course they shouldn’t have done this, they should have done something else”
Yeah right.
What about all the other heroes people want to play who doesn’t have a 3m radius stun effect like McCree has? is Overwatch now The Genji & McCree Show?

No. I flashbang the floor and stun him because of AoE splash stun. Just look at it. In the 2nd clip he was flashing, but I still stunned him, 100% intentionally.

EDIT: Actually, if you listen carefully, on the 1st one he’s deflecting. Look at the sound effect. On the 2nd one he’s obviously deflecting
Basically the tip is to flash the floor to stun him
So don’t shoot at the deflect lol

I am looking at it, he throws the flashbang so close and facing genji that it would have deflected it.
That’s because the Genji conveniently helped McCree by not following him when McCree backed up.
The best you can hope for is a Genji who is bad and doesn’t use deflect very well.
No you’re imagining sounds in a cacophony of noise, you can freeze frame the video and clearly see he’s not deflecting.
Which you can only do if:
- everyone plays McCree until the end of time
- the Genjis never ever learn to get better.
Genji literally deflected in both clips
Franki04 just threw his flash at the ground so it would hit the Genji deflecting without being thrown back at the Mccree, he can do it because flash has a 3m radius, which is a lot bigger than the size of deflect.

I don’t see any deflect in the first clip. Going through the FRAMES (plural) shows he’s still in the animation for shooting deflect.

That isn’t avoidable. There is a counterplay which is wallclimbing and only works once a match/once against every mccree.
